Liz closed the channel, and went back to her burn patients, where her head nurse was checking vitals and updating their charts.

“Greg, can we do a deeper scan on the burns to see if we can get a better idea of how we can treat them? Our standard burn ointments and our burn chamber don’t seem to be having much effect, and I want to make sure we’re using the right tools to treat the problem.”

Liz watched as her head nurse took skin samples from the mother and daughter on the biobeds, and brought them to the molecular scanner by Dr. Jasper’s private office. He placed the samples on the slides and asked the computer to analyze the extent and nature of the damage to the cells, and recommend a treatment therapy based on the level of damage.

Satisfied that Greg had matters in hand, Liz decided to reach out to the bridge and check on their status with the sleeper ship that had been located.
