USS Merrimack

Main Sim - The Alien Ship Bridge

[snip]

=/\= I see =/\= The First replied. =/\= Well I am sorry for that, we had not expected to unknown words in space here nor meet another space faring race like yourselves. Not that I am complaining by The Council no! =/\= She said with a merry sing song like toned response.

Kord was sensing the biofields of the beings they had come to assist. Part of his people’s communication was through variations in their own bio electric fields. As he did this, he let his senses reach through the ship, touching on their systems to get a sense of what felt right and wrong to get an idea where to focus.

Kord’s feeling on the ship’s electrical field, was muddled to say the least. Part of it was due to not knowing how the electrical fields interacted on this ship by simply a touch, he obviously would need to know where power went and exactly to which systems, knowledge he didn’t yet have. But going off the ‘feeling’ of complete circuits he could feel that it seemed most of the problems probably lay in their main power source and motive forms of movement.

Tia nodded to the CO. “I’ll head down to engineering and see what we can begin with there.”

“Please do,” Glen replied. “I dread to think what kind of dangerous, jury-rigged drive you will discover. Take care!”

{Tia} then turned slightly to Kord and lowered her voice for just him, “Kord, did you want to help us down there so we know what we can and can’t replicate? Or do you and the Captain need to be on their bridge?” She didn’t mind going by herself, but she liked the idea of him being there, better. His ability with the ship’s systems may come in handy. But she’d never call him out on that score. So the replication permissions seemed as good a reason as any in case others were listening.

Glen had no objections either way, “I can spare you if you want to go to Engineering, but I can also use you here too. Your choice!”

Kord looked between Glen and Tia.

Tactically it would be bad to have both primary and secondary command officers in one place should an enemy force try to take them. Replication of equivalent pieces of damaged equipment wouldn’t be an issue but if Kord could get familiarity with the systems, he could better assist in finding issues to fix.

“I will assist Lieutenant Ezial in engineering.” Kord said.

Glen nodded his agreement. Kord had a thousand year’s experience of first contacts, but Glen was quite able to manage on his own.

-Glen, CO

Once Kord had left, the First turned to regard Glen. =/\= So....Captain Glen was it? =/\= She paused obviously struggling to pronounce Glen’s night right but mostly getting there in her language =/\= How far from your home are you? As I mentioned we had suspected other intelligent life was around us but we had till not not met anyone or heard of anyone. =/\= She asked.
