The surprised look was truly something else.: : Cross entered sickbay and headed towards the Ensign doctor ‘’How is our patient doing?’’ she asked her eyes firmly fixed on his vital signs.

: : ‘’He’s still unconscious but his status is improving since I inserted the shunt to drain the accumulated blood in his brain ,its to early to say what his prognosis would be ‘’ Marthese replied ‘’So how did the meeting go?’’ the female doctor asked.
: :
: : Cross shrugged ‘’Apparently we have change time again and another ship from the future is here …something to do with an alien race called the serpents to stop them from, from’’ at this point Cross stopped specifying the facts as simple as possible ‘’Lets just hope there won’t be too many casualties ‘’she remarked.

: A comm call came in to medical.
:
: =^=Medic to the bridge. We have… We have…=^= she paused, =^=I’m in labor.=^=
:
Cross was quick to respond =/\= Acknowledged on my way Bre =/\= and with that she ran out of sickbay with a gurney assisted by two nurses, while Marthese got what was needed ....that is if Bre made it to sickbay in time. There was some sort of commotion in the corridor outside of the Sickbay after Miriam had left.
“Ah ken Ah am needed,” Morag told the young medic. “Ah was delivierin’ bairns when yer maw was still in a cot. An’ tak’ yer hans aff me, aam sixty nine years auld! Ah nae a yoong hen onie mair. Lit me by. Aam th’ only midwife aboard thes ship.”
Cross jaw fell open ‘’You’re still alive!’’ she exclaimed to the old midwife who always wreaked the female doctor’s brain trying to understand her ‘’Anyway follow me or better still try to out run me if you can’’ Cross mocked the old woman.
“Ah bairns come when they ur ready an’ tak’ their time. i’ll be thaur oan time. dornt fash yerse yer heed!” replied Morag.
Cross did not look back but did call out ‘’They’re twins and coming four weeks early,if there ever was a time to rush it is now’’ bit McHoan might be able to keep up for the doctor stopped eyeing the turbolift suspiciously ‘’What if it stopped due that darn particle our ship has come across?’’ she asked half expecting the midwife to answer.
There was little chance of Morag catching the younger Doctor as she could only walk with the aid of her walking stick. “Ah be aff wi’ ye! Twins ye say. Aye! Whit particle? Ah dunnae kinn abit onie particle? Whit has ‘at got tae dae wi’ bairns?” she shouted after the Doctor. No doubt that Bre would be brought to Sickbay eventually, so she walked down the corridor and into Sickbay.
Hearing the call for help Drudoc moved over to catch and support Bre, “..Easy miss, focus and breathing. The last thing you want to do is pass out. Ive gone through labor myself so if this is your first time, it can be a bit of an experience despite what you may have heard or learned…” She said in a calm manner helping to keep Bre comfortable.
Once she was Drudoc opened the lid of what seemed a tricorder from her belt, running the basic scan over Bre to see if there were any obvious complications to report until the medical team would arrive.
: Cross was quick to respond =/\= Acknowledged on my way Bre =/\= and with that she ran out of sickbay with a gurney assisted by two nurses, while Marthese got what was needed ....that is if Bre made it to sickbay in time.
:
Drudoc stepped back when the nurses came on the bridge, she reported to Cross. “..The Lieutenant’s contractions are coming fairly quickly right now, not much more then a minute or so apart. I’ve detected no obvious other complications so far before your arrival..” She stated. The female doctor entered the bridge and made a bee line directly to the Lt ‘’Bre stay calm I’m going to check how dilated the cervix is’‘ the medical tricoder showed she was nearly fully dilated ‘’Bre the babies are coming shall we help you on the gurney?’‘ she said in a calm voice, though Cross was thinking that she most probably have to give birth on the bridge or corridor and never make it to sickbay.
Bre looked at the gurney and shook her head.
“Please no. Help me up, I want to walk. I’ll get on that thing if we make it to sickbay.” she said reaching for the two nurses.
Drudoc also moved to assist Bre from behind as the nurses would do their bit.
‘’Thank you ma’am ‘’Cross told Drudoc with all the politeness she could muster while eyeing the tricoder and wondering how more advanced it had too be.
Usually Bre wasn’t one to argue with a Doctor, her older sister Mary was a Doctor after all. In this case, however, there was something about the movement that was soothing to her. Though the contractions were coming hard and fast, she thought she might just have a little bit of time.
Cross and a nurse helped the Lt to get up and walk ‘’At your own pace Bre,this is your call’‘ the doctor said in an ever soothing tone’‘The new doctor is preparing everything we need in a private cubicle in sickbay and oh there is a retired midwife too..though you would need a rather sophisticating translator to understand her’‘.
Once Bre was settled as she would be wished, Drudoc again stepped back out of the way again.
As the nurses and Bre were exiting the bridge, Cross gave Drudoc a slight nod before the door slid closed behind them.
Meanwhile in Sickbay, Morag had begun haranguing the other remaining Doctor. “Hae ye got a scratcher ready? Ye ur only an Ensign? Nae a proper doctur ‘en?”

For a few seconds the new doctor showed her true self, she grabbed the old midwife from her tunic and sneered ‘’The rank ensign means nothing to me,I’m not only a full Lt but also a surgeon’’ she spoke in a hardly audible voice but enough for the midwife to hear and with that she let go of McHoan.
