Posted by… suppressed (1) by the Post Ghost! 👻There had been a party the night before, so Siobhan had heard. She had arrived late and chosen to sleep instead of joining the festivities. So it was that the plain non descript young redhead walked into medical in the morning and looked around. Seeing the counselor had been easy, single room, single person. Her hazel eyes looked around as her five foot eight, slight frame moved aside to allow others to come and go from the bay as necessary. Stopping the first nurse she saw, she smiled. “Good morning, I’m here for my onboarding physical. Is the Doctor around?” She knew the Doc’s face from her briefing papers, but oddly enough, after three days since seeing it, she was having trouble finding the young woman.
Lt JG Siobhan DeNaris
Xenobiologist“I’m Doctor Brennan.” Came a voice from the other side of the room. Sage was just finishing up with a wellness check on a pregnant civilian, the wife of an engineer. She smiled at the future mother, patted her hand and helped her off the biobed, then made her way over to the Lt.
“You don’t look familiar. What’s your name?”
—Sage
“Lieutenant JG Siobhan DeNaris, Ma’am. I’m the new Xenobiologist. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” She nodded respectfully and smiled at the pregnant woman as she passed them. “Congrats and blessings to your family,” she said as the woman left.
Turning back to the Doctor, she nodded. “I came in last night, but I heard everyone was at a party, so I didn’t want to intrude. I hope I didn’t come at a bad time this morning.” Her hazel eyes smiled framed by light red hair and freckles that were dimmed by a light layer of makeup. Not enough to cover them completely but just enough to make her look ‘sun kissed’ instead of ‘sun smacked’ as her friends called her clustered freckles.
Siobhan
XenobiologistA xenobiologist…how interesting. “C’mon over here and we’ll get your boarding eval out of the way.” Sage walked to a free bed and motioned for the Lt to have a seat. “Xenobiology is an interesting field. Have you discovered any new species yet, or engineered any of your own?”
—Sage
Siobhan laughed as she got up on the table and shifted to get comfortable as she sat there. “Sadly, no. I mean, not unless you count the creatures we made up in class at the Academy. We created some very interesting things including borg rabbits, Andorian Sehlats and crickets that could survive in space.” She laughed. They had been only on the computer and would never have lived. But they had been fun to create, none the less. “I’m guessing I’m one of those whose day is supposed to be exciting and filled with the unknown. But I am hoping you have had a fairly boring day so far?” She smiled.
Siobhan
XenobiologistSage smiled. “Today? So far, so good, but in medicine you never count on it staying that way. A borg rabbit, huh? Sounds comical but frightening at the same time.” She pulled up the Lt’s records and scanned through them quickly looking for flagged bits and allergies. “Everything looks in order in your file. Let me get a scan and see where we go from there.”
Not wearing her medical jacket that day, she reached for the nearest tricorder and began to scan DeNaris. “Have you experienced any kind of symptoms or been exposed to any illness that you know of since your last medical evaluation?”
—Sage
“It was both frightening and interesting just on the sim. Not sure we ever actually wanted to make such a thing.” She laughed and shook her head at the question. “Not that I’m aware of.” She smiled. “But to be honest, the last couple weeks have been so hectic with the transfer, I doubt anything but a bout of alien flu shutting me down completely, would be noticed.” She sat still and waited for the scans to finish.

Xenobiologist
(I’ll let you decide if you find anything more than fatigue from lack of sleep lol)“Well, the good news is that your scans are clean. No microscopic lifeforms are hitching a ride with you today. The bad news is you’re run down, but it sounds like you already knew that. I’m going to give you a hypospray of B vitamins. They have a direct impact on your energy levels, brain function, and cell metabolism, so you should be feeling much better in a little while.” Brennan stepped over to a drawer beneath the bed and withdrew a hypospray and a vial. After loading a dose of the B complex, she injected it into DeNaris’ neck.
“It really will help you get back on track. Sometimes a new assignment starts out rougher than expected—whether its the travel or the new boss.” She smiled letting the xenobiologist know she was kidding up to a point. “Is there anything else I can help you with today?”
—Sage
Siobhan smiled. “I am tired. But I plan on a good night’s sleep tonight. I promise.” Turning her head, she closed her eyes as the hypo hit her like an internal flick of a finger. She always hated the feel of whatever was in the spray, being slammed into her under her skin. “I can’t think of anything else. Honestly I just need to figure ot the layout better than the little research I did, and get settled in. I promise I will come find you if I have any trouble. Oddly enough, I’m not one to ignore my uncomfortable feelings and play the martyr.” She laughed. “I appreciate the help, though,” she absently raised a hand to touch where the Vitamin B had been injected. I work on it.” She smiled and nodded. “Thanks again. Is there anything else you need from me before I go?”
Siobhan
XenobiologistPacking the tools back into the drawer, Sage shook her head. “I don’t believe so, just make sure you really DO get that rest tonight and by tomorrow morning, you should be feeling like your old self. If not—come back and see me.”
—Sage
Siobhan nodded. “I promise, Doc. And I hope I see you around and not just for times it’s needed.” She laughed lightly. “Anything else I can do or need to do, before heading to the Science Chief?”
