As per Genesis Custom, All crew members are invited to an after sim mission celebration at 1900 hours.Marius as completely contrary to his nature was first to arrive, primarily because he had to do all of the programing. The Lu’au was consistent with a mission completion celebration as it was the Polynesian ritual celebrating an achievement or war victory.
The hologram came complete with an endless beach and dancing hula men and women in grass skirts, shirtless where appropriate proceeding though the routine tasks of a lu’au. Two were at the entrance, lei-ing people. Others were at the bar and serving drinks and food. Several were attending a kalua pig, others were at lomi salmon, poi, and haupia. For the vegetarians of even replicated food there were cooked and raw bananas, taro leaves in coconut milk, and other vegetable fare. The food wasn’t holographic but replicated and brought to the holodeck for service… same with the drinks.
There was a wooden floor pressed into the beach so people could join the dancers without getting holographic sand in their shoes as well as tents and beach chairs that looked out on the water as the sun slowly set over the horizon.
Marius
Ben’s relief was evident on his face. He finally didn’t have to cook this time. Granted, he loved cooking for the crew, however it was nice to just relax and enjoy the event. He started to wait outside by the doors for Tigress to show up.
Ben
Ben did not waght long Tigeress showed up a few minutes after he did. “ Hi Ben how are you” she said with a smile then leans in and kissed him on the cheek. She smiled then looked at the holdeck doors waiting for him to head in first.
Ensign TigeressThomas arrived not long after, wearing a red Hawaiian print shirt, khaki shorts and some flip flops. He had a pair of old aviator -style sunglasses tucked into the pocket of the shirt if needed.
Stepping into the holodeck, he accepted a lei from one of the hula girls and surveyed the scene for a moment before heading to the bar for a mai tai.

T’Lora paused at the door. She still wore her uniform, but she had left her medkit behind. She entered the holodeck quietly and immediately headed for the bar. She ordered a Vulcan Tea and looked at the lei around her neck curiously.
-T’LoraThe Captain knew there were many new faces on the ship, T’Lora was one of them. He approached the Vulcan medical officer. Marius had a love hate relationship with Vulcans, sometimes he match perfectly with them sometimes it was the exact opposite.. it was never in the middle. “Ensign T’Lora, how are you finding the ship and your position?”
T’Lora looked up. She was a bit surprised that she would meet the Captain, as she was only an ensign. “Captain. It has not been long, but I believe it shall be quite
satisfactory. I have found that being a Vulcan in Starfleet is much better than being a Vulcan on Earth.” She hoped she had not offended him.
-T’LoraDating in public was still a little new to Reia. Mostly her affairs had been quiet accept for the time she had dated Chrissy, on Risa, for about three weeks. That had been a disaster of epic proportions.
Perhaps Reia should have waited for Dagen. Perhaps she shouldn’t have changed outfits six times. Perhaps she shouldn’t have come at all.
Sighing, she stepped through the holodeck doors hoping he would be there already and may have just forgotten to tell her.
The sand felt good on her bare feet as she strolled through the scene waving hello to crew members and smiling pleasantly but her love was not in sight.
Absent mindedly, she accepted a drink from a passing ensign. Raising it to her lips, she stopped at the first scent of alcohol. Definitely not the fake stuff. Frowning, she looked around for someone to hand it off to. Waving, she called out…
“RJ. RJ. Could you come here please?”
The tactical ensign was only too happy to be summoned by the pretty CIO and made his way quickly towards her.
Dagen was running late. Literally. He leaped from the turbolift like one in a race and sprinted the corridor toward the holodeck, remarkably only losing one loose sandal on the way which he left behind. It was replicated anyway. The door was open when he arrived and he skidded to a halt behind a pair of crewmen who were receiving flowery things around their necks. He noted the grass skirt and wondered if that was a required dress. As he was ‘adorned’ he scanned the crowd, first for Reia, and then to the other ‘deck people’. They all had grass skirts. Hoping nobody was watching too closely he flipped the other sandal to the side. He’d not need it here. As he scanned the ladies doing what looked like a rather quick belly dance he pondered Reia in one of those. Breaking off from that he noted some others. The Vulcan medic did stand out. They usually did. His loose shirt was not as colorful as most but the shorts seemed to fit in, unless one needed the grass skirt.
Without thinking he leaned in close and put a hand on her back.
There! Uhhh …
“Can I help you Ms Reia?” he asked looking down at her.
She nodded and handed him the glass. “I just can’t.” she said.
- Reia
Dagen crossed the intervening distance trying to think reasonably. With Thor’s help he succeeded. Mostly. A drink was passed over. He took a calming breath. “Hey,” he said with a smile, though though that it came out a little forced. Closing the distance he just overheard that. Was he trying to pick her up? Reaching out Dagen took Reia’s empty hand and leaned in to kiss her. “Sorry I’m late. Sandal scavenger hunt.” Given the normal ‘state’ of his cabin that was not surprising. He smiled into her eyes then to the other fellow. “Hi. Do I know you?” Definitely not engineering. Outside of that, Dagen had little clue. He didn’t hold out his hand as it had Reia’s in it. A smile would have to suffice.
- DagenGM
Marius took her in for a moment. “Why do you think that is Doctor?” Marius had his theories, but he wasn’t the one sensing a difference and why guess if you can get the message from the horse’s mouth (as the human metaphor goes).
He also looked at the drink in her hand. “You might want to be careful with those… I heard a few of them goes to your head.”
Marius
She looked down at her drink. “Maybe for humans. I don’t believe my mother ever had enough to act strangely.” She nearly smiled. “I believe that humans in Starfleet are the highest caliber of humans. In my experience, many of the humans on Earth have no interest in seeing me out and about, and even less would like to trust their health to a Vulcan. Where are you from Captain?”
-T’LoraBen was happy to see Tigress. He wanted her to be more engaging with other members of the crew off duty. Not only would it be beneficial to her interpersonal skills with humans, it would also help her make friends. She just has start trusting them. “Tigress did you want anything to eat?” Ben had asked curiously.
Ben Park
Marius chuckled. “No the tea doesn’t have a significant effect on humans.” There wasn’t even enough caffeine in that tea to keep him awake. It was a little joke, he just wasn’t 100% sure T’Lora was responding with the dry wit that Vulcan’s used as their basis of humor.
“I was born on Earth, spent a little time on a colony, Beta Eriandi 2, then back to Earth until I joined the Colonial Marines.” It wasn’t a detailed answer.
“Vulcan, for you I presume.” He paused to give her enough time to correct hime.
