Marius as completely contrary to his nature was first to arrive, primarily because he had to do all of the programing. The Lu’au was consistent with a mission completion celebration as it was the Polynesian ritual celebrating an achievement or war victory.

The hologram came complete with an endless beach and dancing hula men and women in grass skirts, shirtless where appropriate proceeding though the routine tasks of a lu’au. Two were at the entrance, lei-ing people. Others were at the bar and serving drinks and food. Several were attending a kalua pig, others were at lomi salmon, poi, and haupia. For the vegetarians of even replicated food there were cooked and raw bananas, taro leaves in coconut milk, and other vegetable fare. The food wasn’t holographic but replicated and brought to the holodeck for service… same with the drinks.

There was a wooden floor pressed into the beach so people could join the dancers without getting holographic sand in their shoes as well as tents and beach chairs that looked out on the water as the sun slowly set over the horizon.
