Reia had a feeling she would enjoy reading this document and took out a tricorder.

“I can link this to a PaDD and read it from there.” she explained.

  • Reia, CIO

Shou took out a personal communication device, not unlike the early smartphones of earth. He fiddled about with it and the tricorder showed that he was using a EM spectrum frequency, somewhere in the range of radio waves in the 21st century Earth. The tricorder was able to pick up the files up.

“You have something like our world’s phablet. Only ours is a lot thinner,” remarked Shou.

Reia smiled and thanked him for the document.

“I appreciate the efficient transfer of information. Honestly, I don’t know what we’d do without these things.” she said looking down at the PaDD and tricorder.

Thomas stood back and reflected. Sounded fairly standard from a government perspective. Varying Cabinet size as a way to show patronage to your friends and those who helped you get your position, and/or to snub those who oppose you.

And the trade-learning system, though it seemed to start fairly early, was interesting, and there were clearly opportunities for both advancement and expanding your skillset, to the point where you could even start a career in a different field, so they weren’t a system where the state controlled everything, which was another plus. They gave a certain value to the kinds of freedoms shared by the Federation, and had things to offer in trade.

Now they just had to get to a point where they could get off planet and call in the diplomats without the wheels falling off…

Crap, he’d just guaranteed the wheels were going to fall off.

COS

Shou finally led them to where they met Yeeker waiting for them. Shou bowed profoundly to bid them farewell. “Excuse me, I will have to return to my duties,” he explained.

GM

Dagen greeted Yeeker and then back to Shou. “Thank you for your time, and your most revealing tour and of sharing your world with us. Our worlds are not greatly different, nor is the governance or the variety and creativity of the people on the worlds. Again, thank you.” He mimicked a bow in return to Shou. ” I hope we have an opportunity to meet again,” he said.

Turning then to Yeeker, he continued. “Thank you. I suppose that the next thing is that we will return to our ship and relate our experience to our Captain. From there this will go to the Federation and diplomatic relations. Do you have any diplomats who might accompany us if that is requested?” As much as he enjoyed the trip he was feeling weary; diplomacy took a lot of energy! he glanced to the shuttle, happy that he would be sitting soon and on his way back to the ship.
Dagen, CE
OOC: Assuming they were at the shuttle?

OOC: No they were not but they could easily get to the shuttle. :)

IC: Yeeker nodded seriously. “Mr. Neve will decide who to follow if there is a request,” she replied. “I understand that protocols are necessary. I thank you very much for even considering our request. You would naturally like to return to your ship?”

It seemed a long journey back to the shuttle but they eventually reached it.

GM

Reia would be glad to sit down and decompress fro a minute. Sometimes being shorter than everyone on the away team did not have it’s advantages, but she had gotten used to taking long strides and keeping up with people.

  • Reia, CIO

Thomas sat back as well, once the shuttle hatch shut behind them. “Well, that was exhausting.”

COS

Dagen took a seat. He’d been running on some adrenaline in this new environment and it was still flowing. “Exhilarating,” he said, casting a look at Reia and Thomas. “But interesting. He nodded to the security there who had guarded the shuttle and piloted it. “Back to the ship, please. And don’t spare the deuterium.”

Sitting then in a group with Thomas and Reia he turned to the replicator. “Anyone want anything?”

=^= Tea, chai, hot =^= he ordered for himself Once everyone was set he took a sip and leaned back in the chair. Stiff, it didn’t yield much. “We’ll undoubtedly be called into a debriefing when we get back. What are your top observations and personal thoughts/feeling about our trip?” he asked, looking from one to the other, but lingering just a moment more on Reia.
- Dagen, CE

Reia had her hands wrapped around a cup of black coffee. The savory beverage on Palas had been sadly disappointing.

“I’d like to read through some of their literature, things that are not put out by the government. I have this wild idea of taking an unscheduled, unannounced, side trip. I want to know what the actual people are like because their figure heads seem far too orderly and a bit rehearsed if you ask me.
