Securing a final stitch, Valleea set her embroidery to the side. “Hmmm, well, like any society that highly values art, musical expression is very important. There are some interesting divisions though. The First Monarch has typically championed a particular type or style of music and during their reign it tends to be popular and create successive spinoffs. There are whole dynasties that have essentially been responsible for an entire genre of music.” Valleea leaned forward, her grey eyes lighting up ever so slightly. “My favourite are the operas of the Sholashylan Dynasty. Over three hundred and fifty years worth of epic dramas told through song. And the costumes and sets were so lavish. It makes the balls my parents used to take me to pale in comparison.”

Marishka thought that sounded very Klingon, and Orion.

“That sounds very exciting. I know what it’s like to b e a child at one of those things. I’m going to have to find some of those operas to listen to. A whole dynasty, how far reaching that must be, even today.” she said eyeing Valleea’s embroidery.

Such a pretty little thing could hold many secrets if one knew how to make the proper stitches.

Valleea grinned slightly. “Well, a dynasty means something entirely different when your species lives a good two hundred years or so. That one might have produced fantastic music, but it was rather short lived, comparatively.”

She thought for a moment and smiled. “I think if I miss anything about Krios Prime, it’s the immersive nature of art and sharing it with others. It’s just… different in Starfleet.”
