Chan stood in the middle of a barren dessert littered with wreck and old buildings. The sand was coarse and rough, but with soft patches and quick sand scattered about. The heat form the desert could be felt thanks to Chan dropping the safeties to their lowest settings.

“This will do”she said to herself before tapping her com-badge =^= Chan to transporter room. Energize=^= she said through her com.

Within a matter of moments a large silver object appeared in front of her. It stood about seven feet tall, a meter and half long ad just over half a meter wide. the lower part looked like a bugs body with six legs, the body also had a sensor array on the top and the outline of draws could be faintly seen on the sides, other than that it’s body was sooth. The slight humming of it’s power core could be heard from deep inside the body. the body was connected to a human looking torso with two arms and a fly like head. The torso was streamlined and smooth, except for the faint outline of a couple of compartments either side of the torso. On it’s left shoulder could be seen a small pulse cannon and on it right a grappling hook launcher . Attached at the shoulders were two humanoid looking arms, one on the left and one on the right, all metal. Each arm connected to hand that was as dextrose as nay human or humanoid hand. Attached to the right hand was a laser cutter. The head that was attached to the torso via a neck joint was that of a fly’s, With two large domed eyes and to small antenna attached to where the mouth would be, these where for communications.

To many it would be terrifying but Chan just smiled at it. She looked at the padd in her hand and taped it. The Robot came to life, it’s gears and motors whereing it head began to tilt and look around. The hands flexed and the shoulder mount swiveled.

“Start up confirmed. all systems ready” it said in a low, deep, electronic voice

“Good. Begin stage one testing” Chan ordered.

“Acknowledged” the R.A.T said as it turned it’s six feet easily moving it into position. Chan could imagine the clanking those feet would make on any metal floor . The R.At headed for one of the wreck and began testing out it’s various attachments. First it tested it’s laser cutter, then it’s diamond tipped saw, that came out of one the compartments in the torso, it then used it’s grappling hook to move the cut metal out of the way. in a few moments there was a R.A.T Sized hole in the wreck.

“Begin sample retrieval” Chan said as she watched it work.
