[Personal Message – To: Lt. Cmdr. Thomas McGregor | From: Lt. Cmdr. Edelu]Subject: Physical Evaluation – You Know the Drill
Commander McGregor,
As part of my first order of business aboard the Genesis, I’m beginning annual medical evaluations with department heads and senior officers. I’d like to get yours scheduled at your earliest convenience.
I expect you’re no stranger to physicals—or to doctors who ask too many questions. I promise to keep it efficient, thorough, and respectful of your time. No lectures unless you ask for them.
Let me know what works for your schedule. I’ll be in Sickbay.

Doctor -
I am available from 0800-0900 or after 1800 most days. Which would you prefer?

Commander,
Let’s plan for 0800 tomorrow. I’ll have Sickbay prepped and the scans ready. Shouldn’t take more than twenty minutes—unless, of course, you’ve been secretly skipping cardio and trying to make up for it with caffeine.
No lectures, as promised. Just answers, data, and a clean bill of health—assuming you earn it.
See you in the morning.

Edelu looked up from the console at the soft hiss of the Sickbay doors, one brow lifting a fraction at the precise timing.
“Commander McGregor,” he said, voice even but touched with dry approval. “I see your internal chronometer is still functioning within Federation standard tolerances.”
“What can I say, I like being early to things,” Thomas quipped.
He stepped out from behind the console, gesturing toward the nearest biobed already prepped with a diagnostic panel and sterile field in place. “You know the routine. Shoes off the deck, shoulders against the frame—try not to look like you’re about to be interrogated.”
Thomas snorted, but complied, keeping his face in an aloof mien.
Retrieving a tricorder from the tray, he keyed it to McGregor’s profile with a practiced flick of his thumb. “No caffeine bribes, no last-minute sprints down the corridor… I’m almost disappointed.”
“That would be disrespectful to both of us,” Thomas replied.
The soft chirp of the scanner filled the space between them as Edelu began the first sweep, his expression calm and unreadable save for the faintest glint of amusement in his eyes.
The scan would turn up a couple things out of the ordinary: elevated cortisol levels and a slightly sprained right shoulder.
