=^= Thor here. If you can lock onto Reia’s comm signal. She is ahead and we’re en route to join her. =^= Dagen replied with some angst. What a time for her to run off? Even if it was well meaning.
“Right you heard that. Let’s double time to catch up with Reia.”
Tom nodded and slung his bag of rocks over his shoulder with one hand and carried the pistol/flashlight in the other.
- Tom
=^= Thor to Reia. Hold position. McGregor and the XO are enroute to us. We’ll join you. They are searching for your signal. =^=
- Dagen, CEReia should have known not to go walking off, it always happened like that. Sighing she hit her comms
=^=Of course they are, but you realize if I hadn’t have taken this little walk we’d be stuck there for hours right? Got it, I’ll stay here.=^=
- Reia, CIO/Comms
=^= Are you seeing anything to take shelter in or on? =^= he asked, choosing not to roll into any what if’s on paths one takes. His knee was bugging him and he was moving with a noticeable limp. Reaching down he felt it was swollen but not badly. It seemed there was good news. The bad news was what was coming was still coming. He supposed they could phaser a shaft for them to get through. Even a nice rope let down would work.
- Dagen, CETom grabbed and ampoule out of his first aid pouch and offered it to Dagen.
“Mild local pain killer. Take off the cap, stick then needle where it hurts, and squeeze the tube. I have four more if you end up needing them.”
- Tom, IntSec
“I’ve seen wizards with less pockets than you,” Dagen said. They had spoken on Earth as ‘jacks of all trades’ and in his mind Tom was one who quite fit that definition. Or Boy Scout, being always prepared, even in a formal occasion as this. He took the ampoule without question, put the cap in his teeth and pulled it off. The needle made him wince but then the drug took its effect swiftly and he started feeling better on his leg almost at once. “Thanks,” he said.
Seeing Reia up ahead and wondering how she had gotten so far up in that short time, he waved in greeting. By then he was limping much less and what had been pain was a dull ‘something is there still but on the shelf for now’ feeling. When they came up to talking distance, he asked, “See anything?”
- Dagen, CEUp ahead there were several vehicles that seemed to be abandoned. The doors were open along with the windows which were broken into sharp shards as if people were pulled through them. There was blood pooling in some places but not a single body would be found. It would appear as if any person in the vehicles had disappeared into thin air.
GM Kate
The look on Reia’s face when she turned to face Tom and Dagen was not a comforting one.
“Oh yeah, up ahead there are a few vehicles. Don’t even think about saying it’s a good idea to take shelter in those though. What or whomever did isn’t there anymore. It looks like they were pulled straight through the windows and the windows weren’t exactly opened either. I don’t know how long that happened but the blood doesn’t look very fresh to me. Would not advise.”
Reia has seen a lot of things in her Starfleet career but, that was disturbing to her.
- Reia, CIO/Comms
Dagen glanced over. “Okay, vehicles don’t just appear there,” he said. “How did they get there? If they were driven down there must be an exit point. Let’s see.” Moving past Reia he said quietly, “We don’t need to look at the vehicles. There’s no debris atop them or around them to say that they dropped through the roof like we did. That means there has to be a way up and out. And between us we can hotwire a garage door.”
