Dagen thought for a moment. How to make a ‘long story short’ as he had heard back on Earth. “Traditionally as you know there isn’t usually a lot of chat with the Symbiot around the potential host. The custodians who look after them also have a database of the history of the Symbiot and their hosts and the logged ‘mannerisms’ of the wee beastie - usually from observations from the hosts. That allows for an easier ‘match’ of a Symbiot to a host, in a perfect world of course. Thor bucked the system and insisted that he choose.” He gave a wry smile. “Which is the only reason that I am joined. I had failed later tests and was put out of the program. It created a … stir … amongst the Commission.” His eyes tracked the others in the simulation. “However since then, Thor isn’t a passive participant. He wants to interact and, admittedly, has unique ways of getting is will to be at least considered.”
- Thor, CENiniane’s eyes widened in surprise. “That is quite unheard of… as far as I know. How fascinating. Does that mean that theoretically Thor could right now have a different opinion about me than you?” she asked.
- Niniane Fahr, sciDagen looked at Valleea. He could very easily say the same about her. “Long time no see Doctor,” he said. “A little different from Jeffries Tubes though you are ever very creative about your dress.”
Dagen ThorValleea laughed slightly. “Indeed it is!” Her expression shifted slightly and she considered Dagen and then Niniane. she didn’t mind her friend hearing what she had to say to Thor. “And I contacted our mutual acquaintance. For better or worse, a search is beginning.” She still wasn’t sure how she felt about it, but it was clear that it was a monumental thing.”
Ensign Valleea, DoctorNiniane raised both eyebrows and gave Valleea a questioning and curious look.
Chan saw Ben “Excuse me” she said to the group she was talking. She walked towards Ben once at his table she smiled at him “Thank you for putting this all together for the party” she said sincerely.
Lieut Chan (Sub-DH Robotics)Tom was off next to a wall of clear ice. He had a drink in his hand that was, most likely, a flavored water of some kind. He wore his usual off duty monochromatic gray outfit. Charcoal gray slacks, medium gray button front short sleeved shirt, and black low profile shoes. He watched the people mill around.
Tom, IntSecMarishka hated to be late for a party unless, of course, she was fashionably late. She stepped into the icy scene in a metallic blue miniskirt and matching halter with a lace shrug casually draped over her shoulders done in soft ivory and studded with blue and white crystals. There was a small braid on either side of her head starting at the temple that twisted into a bun at the nape of her neck. Chains of blue and white crystals hung from the braids nearly to her shoulders. Her silver heels made no sound as she glided through the scene waving and smiling. Plucking a glass form a nearby tray she wondered if there would be dancing tonight.
Marishka, CIO“Aye, it’s my first ship assignment, but I grew up in a town with just a couple thousand people in it. The faces get familiar, and eventually you get to know everybody by name, what they do, where they’re from, and if you live close enough or catch them in a weak moment at the bar, a lot more than that,” Thomas said. “I’d say I’m probably about a quarter of the way to the first three points with most of the crew… halfway there if you exclude the new transfers.”
COS“And all he’ll say is some variation of ‘You know I can’t reveal anything about that’ or ‘I thought it’d be different, but I shouldn’t say how’. It get’s really repetitive after awhile, trust me,” Riley jabbed. “The worst is when I’m reading the news and see something interesting, share it, and he just looks at me like I’d just discovered the Earth is round.”
David chuckled. “Yes and then you crinkle up your nose and look at me with those big beautiful eyes.” He leaned in and kissed the tip of Riley’s nose gently.
Thomas shrugged. “Well, things that are brand new to us could be completely different 5 centuries from now,” he said. “We’d say the same if we found ourselves flung into the pre-Federation days.” He took a sip of his own drink before addressing David again. “I suppose the really weird thing would be learning about things discovered by a ‘David Micheals’ in 2393 when you were in school, only to find out now that it was you that discovered it.”
COS“There has to bear ups against something like that, no?” Riley asked, realizing as he did that there really couldn’t be or else David wouldn’t be allowed to serve in Sta fleet.
David grinned. “During training for the Department of Temporal Investigations, they were very strict on limiting knowledge of one’s own actions in past timelines.” He paused. “The study of time and temporal psychics is quite a vast and complicated subject. Our training is usually a total of six years before we are even permitted to travel through time.”
Thomas tipped his drink towards him to acknowledge the point.
Marishka had been making the rounds for a few minutes. The decor was beautiful and so were the men and women. Her’s hadn’t seemed to arrive yet but she spied David, Riley, and Thomas and decided to be a bit sociable.
Walking up to the three she smiled and nodded.
-MarishkaThomas nodded back. “Marishka. Enjoying yourself?”
COSMarishka took a half step back and bowed slightly, the gold chain and large opal pendant were framed nicely by the cleavage, blue leather, and bit of white lace at the shoulder. “Oh I’m going to. What’s not to enjoy? Beautiful scenery, interesting people, and, rumor has it, I’m the most scandalous crew member here.” she said with a wink.
-MarishkaAgain David let out a chuckle. “Oh I think I could give you a run for your money on the scandal factor,” He said, giving her a wink. “But you win the beauty category, hands down.” His hand still around Riley’s waist, he pulled the Counselor in closer. “And you my love, give her a tie in that category as well.”
-David Michaels, CSORiley smiled, “See, he can be charming when he wants. I dcan it know why no one believes me. You do look ravishing.”
He leaned in and gave Marishka a peck on th cheek.Thomas shook his head slightly at the CSO’s antics. Sure, Riley was attractive enough, but Marishka was literally otherworldly. Even he, not generally being attracted to beings of either gender and knowing she was rather off-limits was somewhat tempted.
“Just so long as neither of you gets naked in here and forces me to arrest you for public indecency, feel free to be as scandalous as you wish,” he said, taking another sip. That made Riley laugh. He liked a security officer with a sense of humor.
Dekker, CNSMarishka liked seeing David and Riley together. Perhaps they would never quite understand the role they had played in her recent psychological development. She would have to invite them both for a drink sometime and try to explain.
“The trick to winning a contest, my dear, is to pretend you’re not in one.” she said with a sly smile.
-MarishkaThomas took another look around the room. “Strange that neither Julian or Calvin are here yet, don’t you think?”
COSDagen’s eyes followed the ‘frills’. Her people were so incredibly effusive in the way that feelings or even thoughts were expressed. It reminded Dagen of himself; he couldn’t well keep a poker face and his emotions were often both seen and heard. While he never would call himself ‘sensitive’ it could be that he was just fooling himself. And that came out here in a look of surprise. “That .. that would be wonderful.” He had never had anyone drop by with or for lunch, though at times on the spacedock he had to be pulled away to sleep as he had often simply forgot about the time. “Maybe I could bring a lunch and we could slip off for a few. Catch a window seat in the lounge.”
Dagen, CEShalahn smiled and sang “I’d like that.” in her multilayered voice. Then she looked around the room, looking a bit pensive. “So, what do humans do on occasions such as this?” she asked Dagen.
- Shalahn, nurseCalvin scanned the crowd but didn’t seem to make eye contact. He looked off into the distance. “I came alone… ” He reached out as a waiter passed, lifting what was a glass of champagne of his tray. He sipped it, with a slight wince. He didn’t really like the stuff. “That doesn’t mean I intend to leave the same way.”
He exhaled then blinked slowly unveiling his eyes as he now took in her in. “I assume you came alone, because a man would be a fool to leave you alone with me.”
MairusSage laughed, “You’re right, I did come alone. Perhaps I can convince you to take ME home with you when you leave the party?” Then she made a sound in her throat like a cat purring and stepped closer. One hand rose to smooth over the cloth of his shiny jacket over is chest area. Her voice lost the ‘I’m just a stranger here’ tone, but not the flirtatiousness. “Babe, you look GOOD! Mmm mmmm”
—SageTigress smiled.” There so cute” Tigress said she looked at been. “ I’m glad you convinced me to come” she said.
Ensign Tigress“I’m glad you came too. A polar bear can weigh on average between 250 kilograms and 300 kilograms.”
Ensign ParkJulien was dressed in his usual all-black and sleek combo that went so well with his tan and his short black curls. He entered the holodeck alone, intentionally being late. Shortly after entering he stopped and while the door swished shut behind him he gave the assembled a quick scan with his android eye, registering who was already here. It was tough not to stop dead at Marishka, she was looking her usual … super sexy and elegant at the same time. But so did La’kia, just in a wholly different way.
- Julien King, COMarishka wasn’t empathic but she could usually tell when Julien entered a room. Turning slightly, she caught sight of him out of her peripheral vision, stunning as usual. She smiled and stopped a waiter for another glass of Champagne and debated on whether to rush to his side as if she belonged there. Marishka felt she did but rushing usually wasn’t her style.
-Marishka
La’kia was engaged in conversation and hadn’t spotted him yet. And even if, anything between them right now was very personal and no topic for this evening. He admited to himself that he was rather relieved about that and made his way to Marishka with long strides, the crowd of officers making way for him and nodding to him, as he nodded back and smiled.
Marishka, as usual was standing surrounded by males more or less trying to avoid staring at her too obviously, except for Riley and David of course, who were also there. Julien smiled as he saw David’s arm around Riley’s waist. He decided to confirm the standard of easy-going for this evening and wrapped an arm around Marishka’s waist, coming to stand beside her and subtly pulling her closer while smiling to the round of people.
“Good evening everyone.” he said in his deep baritone while involuntarily inhaling… she was smelling so good, he felt the need to taste her and see if she tasted the same, so he bent down to press a quick chaste kiss on her cheek. He was never quite sure how much of that was her Orion pheromones… at least a few of them, and how much was just her delectible self.
