Valleea's Quarters- Contacting Orr

: : : : : : (snip)
: : : : : : : : : : : =/\=Valleea is fine by me,=/\= she replied simply. She was no a Starfleet officer in this conversation and her noble status was circumspect these days as it was, so she was just herself in this conversation.
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : =/\=I looked over the information on your company and I can assure you that cost is unlikely to be an issue, but I also don’t know how difficult an assignment this might ultimately be. How exactly do feel we should go about setting up this arrangement?=/\= the Kriosian asked, feeling forthrightness to be the best way forward at the moment.
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Ensign Valleea, Doctor
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : Orr apparently had little concern relating to the possible issue. =^= While it is a bit open ended, you are certainly not required to pay anything unless we succeed. We would keep you up to date on what a running bill may be, and it would be up to you to cancel. Or, if you wish, you can give us a certain fixed time with which to complete this. That in itself would allow you to at least know what a maximum payment may be. It is one in which I personally would recommend. At the end of this we may meet and look over our findings to date if it is not completed, and you may determine to continue or not. =^=

: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : Valeea nodded. =/\=That is acceptable to me,=/\= she replied. Inhaling deeply, she did her best to look composed. =/\= Presuming I give you budget that is workable. What are our first steps?=/\= In a way she knew she had just committed herself to this crazy endeavour and all she could hope was that it didn’t end in heartbreak. But that was the risk she had to be willing to take.

: : : : : : : : : Ensign Valleea, Doctor
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : Orr glanced down, perhaps at notes he had made, or perhaps just in thought. =^= I understand that time erodes trails on finding people, and standard trails may be cold. The essential information to get us started is when the person was last seen and where, any information on the person and, practically, any details which would not appear on a typical file - such as likes, hobbies, haunts, getaway places, bucket lists, to use an old term. Images from any age is valuable. Computer projections can take past appearances and, with family information, be very accurate on what people look like years later. =^=

: : : : : : : : Orr
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Valleea inhaled deeply and nodded. =/\=I have a photo of the two of from just before things all changed and I lost track of him.=/\= There was so much she could tell Orr, but how much and when was actually a bit overwhelming to process. =/\=Hold on, I’ll get it.=/\= After she had settled in on the Genesis, she had taken the one image she had in her personal files and had it printed. Not every day, but often, she’d look at it and wonder.
: : : : :
: : : : : Orr looked to be making some notes while Valleea was away …
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Sitting back at the console, she held it up. It was a picture of her with a man who could be described by many humanoid terms as being quite handsome. He had dark hair that was closely cropped to his head, and facial hair that was just a bit past a ‘five o’clock shadow’- enough to be visible but had little length to it. What was most striking aside from the similar sort of pale sotting that Valeea had was his deep, deep blue eyes. Both of them were grinning and they seemed to be at some sort of dry scrub beach setting. =/\=I have a copy I can send you. This was just over five years ago. I can’t imagine he’d have changed too much, but then again…=/\= She shrugged. She had no idea what to expect. =/\=He is three years older than I am. I am just thirty-one standard years now.=/\=

: : : : : : Bump
: : : : : Thanks :)
: : : : :
: : : : : Orr continued to make notes then looked up to study the image. =^= That isn’t that long, yes, thank you. By chance you wouldn’t have a sound recording of his voice? Voice patterns are searchable if one could get into the right .. database. One more question. Is there reason to think that he would be off world? Does he have properties elsewhere beyond the homeworld? =^=
: : : : :
: : : : : Orr
: : : :
: : : : =/\=I don’t have any voice recordings,=/\= Valleea said quietly. It never occurred her that she might never hear his voice again. =/\=I… I didn’t get to do more than send him a message after I returned to Krios before there was silence from him.=/\= She sighed. =/\=He and his family have no places off-world, but that doesn’t mean he left for some reason. It’s possible he’s elsewhere.=/\= This was such a seeming impossibility! How could they find one person who may or may not be on the planet he was born and raised on?!

Orr took a moment to find a reply. When he did speak his voice was certainly ‘trained’ to engender calm. =^= That’s okay. Sometimes less information can allow for a wider scope of thought on where and how to look. Krios. I think you might be amazed at just how much of a digital footprint people accrue when nothing is ever truly lost. =^= He glanced to the side then back to Valleea. “=^= Do you authorize us to begin? =^=
