Magnus allowed the security team to take point although he itched to rush inside, he’d been command level for long enough to know that knocking down doors was no longer his job. When the first team was already in he made his way inside. After making sure the rest of the assault team was in place he took a knee and opened the suit comms for the team “Alright, McGregor set your rearguard here, this is our primary exfil and rally point if things go haywire but I want to secure transporter capabilities as well as shuttle landing points, if you find opportunities to take over any central locations you have permission to do so at your discretion.” he tapped the command interface on his suit to prepare for using the suit indoors“Aye aye,” Thomas said, nodding to the security officers he’d picked for that job. Two would stay outside guarding from any potential external threats, two would remain inside, pointing at the door the rest of them were about to enter.
“I want to try to go weapons silent for as long as possible but if or when we go loud we go loud and fast, when the first shot is fired its weapons free.” He spoke more like a soldier now than normally, with none of his usual swagger in his tone, a side of him the crew was not used to “Commander, keep the suits on or take them off here before proceeding?” He asked the security chief, he had his thoughts on the matter but he wanted opinions before giving his orders.
XO
“We’re dealing with at least one man who’s already demonstrated his lack of regard for others’ lives,” Thomas said. “I think it would be more prudent to keep the suits on, make it harder for him to deal with us than just open this place to vacuum.”
COS
Once in the airlock in preparations to cycle it, Tom put the mylar against the internal mechanism and attempted to find a way to cycle the airlock without setting off any alerts.

As the men took up their positions, the sound of talking could be heard down the corridor and heading towards them. There were klaxons or agitation in the voices. To the away team, it would seem just like two or three crew talking about random topics as they walked the corridors of the Genesis. The team had about ten seconds to decide to head the other way down the hall and not be discovered or take on the people approaching them.
GM
Thomas quickly consulted the sensor display in his suit to see just how many targets were approaching, and what if anything could be determined about them.
COS
Tom was there as an Internal Security infiltration specialist. So far it was not looking like he was going to be infiltrating a party. So he stood quiet and to the side and watch the rest of the infiltration team to see what they would do. He would take his lead from them. Meanwhile he listened closely to see if he could determine the number of people walking down the hallway based on the sound of their footsteps. As he listened he slowly and quietly reached to his belt and pulled out his compact dart pistol that looked like a small LED flashlight. It was currently loaded with broad species tranquilizer rounds but he always carried a more lethal option on him just in case.
- Tom, IntSec
Whilst the two officers were focusing on numbers Magnus focused on time and by the sound of those conversationalists there wasn’t time, he raised a hand and gave the hand signal for them to move on “Hop to” He said through the suit coms in a half whisper, there wasn’t really a need to whisper but he always found it to be a good operating procedure “Down hall, prep ambush” He ordered and moved first, they might not need to take them out but he wanted a look at their opposition.
XO
The approaching people turned out to be three science-type individuals. They were physically not impressive and more the average height and weight for two humans and a Betaziod. The conversation was lackadaisical until they rounded the corner staring at Magnus and his away team. “Um Scott,” one of the trio stated to his friend, “I told you it was a bad idea coming here.” Not knowing what to do, the three individuals froze in place as if each of them was trying to think of a plan.
GM
Tom had been in similar situations before and knew that this could go one of two ways. In that moment, before the thought had even finished, Tom’s arm snapped up. The “flashlight” gave a quiet phut sound as it used compressed gas to fire a tiny gell dart, full of a fast acting broad species tranquilizer, into the neck of the Betazoid. He didn’t envey them the headache they’d have if/when they woke up in several hours.
In the moment Tom’s arm was already traversing towards a second target.
-Tom, IntSec
Thomas leapt into action as well, tackling the man on the other end of the group and slapping his hand over his mouth to prevent him crying out. It was all well and good to knock all of them out, but it was even better to have someone awake and able to answer questions.
COS
Magnus immediately joined McGregor and Tom in the attack going for the middle, he spun his rifle around and used the butt to strike the last one in the diaphragm, a measured strike enough to expel air but not enough to break the man. He followed with a knee into the man’s knee pit to take him down to his knees.
XO
“Oh my god what’s wrong with you,” the only man left standing from the attack stated holding up his hands already trying to surrender. “Who are you?” It was obvious they were not part of the security force of the station. The man needed to bluff long enough for the security feeds to pick them up and send reinforcements.
GM
Another security officer grabbed him and hauled him back towards where the Genny team had infiltrated from.
“We’re from the USS Genesis,” Thomas said. “And you’re under arrest for aiding and abetting kidnapping.”
COS
“Kidnapping,” the man blurted out with a confused expression on his face. “This is a science outpost. We are not kidnapping anyone. Every research subject signed a waiver to be here. I want to talk to a my JAG lawyer,” he spat out. “If you are not careful you will be the one with assault charges.”
GM
Tom took the ID tags of the scientists. Pulling out what looked like an old 20th century Pedestrian Person cassette player Tom inserted the IDs. A screen lit up on the front and Tom tapped out a few strings of instructions.
“Should I duplicate the IDs with our faces or just alter the images on the existing IDs?” Tom asked.
- Tom, IntSec
The security was far more lax than anyone would have expected. There were no alarms upon breaking into the base nor has the commotion brought any semblance of a security response from the base. Looking up and around, there seemed to be no security monitors or cameras. The only form of “security” seemed to be the hologram altering the surface of moon base as the only offensive feature.GM
“Did we get a life form count before we beamed down?” Thomas asked Magnus.
COS
Magnus shook his head but that didn’t translate well in the suit “Negative, couldn’t risk a full scan without alerting them that we had their location” He turned to Tom “Alter the images, they’ll likely have tracking signals like combadges but that could be useful.”
Magnus then focused on the three science geeks “Son, your base has kidnapped over a dozen Starfleet Officers including our Captain which if you know anything about Starfleet should tell to which degree you are screwed” He said in a quiet voice, being quiet was always more effective than being loud “Now you are going to give us information, locations of test sites, main command locations, distribution of internal Security forces and all the information on Richard Rochberg that you have” He put his rifle in the half ready position “You have two minutes” He didn’t follow with any threats, never threaten unless you had to.
Lieutenant Commander Magnús Pétursson
First Officer USS Genesis“Whoa whoa whoa,” the man squinted his eyes as if this would do anything to stop the shot Magnus was hinting might come. “Where do you want to go first? To the test subjects or Lt. Rick,” the man blurted out.
“Fred,” one of the other bound men snapped,” why are you panicking? They signed up. These people have no idea what they are talking about?”
“Because the nice man has a gun and no one is paying me enough for this,” he responded to his friend as if they were in the mess hall having a conversation instead of hog tied on the deck plating.
His comment seemed to abruptly change Fred’s point of view of the situation. “Would you prefer me to escort you or just give you directions,” he asked politely.
CO/GM
“Directions please” Magnus said politely although the team could see on his face through the clear helmet that he was losing the grip on whatever reserves of patients he had left “Your cooperation will be noted” He said whilst in his mind’s eye he saw himself tossing the three scientists out the airlock. He quickly dismissed the thought as childish at best and psychopathic at worst.
XO
“Ric is two levels up. Take the turbo at the end of the hall. When you get out go right and then left. The tunnel deadends in the command room. The test subjects are down the hall. Take the first two nights at the intersection and then take a left. It’s a huge medical bay. You can’t miss it,” Fred stated rapidly.
CO/GM
Magnus pointed at Tom “Go get Ric” He stood up “McGregor you taka Alpha and get our people I’ll take Bravo and secure the Command room, communications silence until we either succeed mission parameters or go loud” He looked at the scientists “We’ll be keeping you in this service room until we’ve secured the base. If you are right and most of these subjects are here by their own will then we’re here because of a rogue mad scientist” He leaned down “Hope that’s the case”
XO
Thomas nodded, and gestured towards a few of his Security officers to split away from the group.
Tom looked up at Magnus “how do you want him?”
Tom looked ready to party in his suit, but this wasn’t the kind of party the suit was meant for. It would be an interesting encounter to say the least.
- Tom, IntSec
COS
“Medium rare” The first officer cracked his first joke since they’d jumped down “I want him conscious if possible but definitely incapacitated, if he so much as attempts to touch a console or give a voice command you have permission to break him” He said in a less joking manner. “Let’s go people”
