He nodded. “I had a dream… a nightmare. Flavia and you died. I know it was just a dream, but it was real enough for me and when I woke up drenched in sweat and tears, I knew what I had to do. I’m very sorry I’ve put you through all those ups and downs. I have made your life harder instead of easier, that was not my intention. We can leave anytime you like, it’ll be a long journey back, but the USS Trepid will pick us up half way and bring us back to Earth.” he said calmly.

There was much she could say to Julien, about how dreams were just dreams, but she knew that wasn’t the case. Like that moment where in her dream she had been witness to her mother’s passing into death, she understood how powerful and motivating they could be. In this case she couldn’t deny him his realization just because it might seem ridiculous to others. Moreover, the apology was sincere. Even if it was perhaps unnecessary, it was still welcomed. Reaching out, she squeezed his hand and offered him a warm gaze. “Okay,” she said simply. It was done. They would work out the rest later, in time. For now, there were details of her work to focus on, the growing life inside her that needed special attention, and a growing son whose curiosity could be easily accommodated by his wonderful father.
