Ashley then went to the counselors office and rang the chime. She didn’t know the crew very well but she knows that she’ll tell the counselor everything. Knowing that it is the best way to check in with the counselor before going to her duty station in sickbay.

When she was on the Ark Angel, she had to do the same thing there as well but this is now her new duty station on board the USS Genesis. She stood there awaiting her to hear the counselor to say enter.

Lt. J.G. Logan

“Come in,” Vanessa called out to the chime at the door

Ashley then walks into the counselors office and stood at attention. “Hello counselor. I’m Lt. J.G. Ashley Logan. I’m a new transfer. My last duty station was on the USS Ark Angel but starfleet has asked me to be the CMO on board here.” She said.

LT. J.G. Logan

“Welcome to the Genesis,” she extended her hand. “Do you want something to drink,” Vanessa gestured to the replicator.

Vanessa Slade CNS

She extended her hand out back and shook the womans hand. “Uh water would be nice.” She said. Not knowing what else to say.

LT. J.G. Logan

Vanessa moved to get the water and asked, “So tell me about yourself.” Once the water was replicate she returned to her desk and handed it over.

Vanessa Slade CNS

“I’m the new CMO on board and ready to serve. But I’m pretty sure you have my service record in your hand counselor.” She said.

Lt. J.G. logan

“Sure but that doesn’t tell me about you,” she leaned back taking a sip of her drink. “This session is about you talking and me listening so I am all ears. Talk about anything you want.”

Vanessa Slade CNS

“Uh alright. Well when I was younger !y parents went to starfleet themselves. They uh wanted me to join. So I did. I joined starfleet and never regretted that at all. I just knew there were some risks that a lot of people must realize is that there are risks when joining starfleet. I knew what the risks were and still do. But you know all about that. I lost my mother shortly after I joined and I lost my father shortly after I became ensign.” She said.

Lt. Logan

“I am sorry for your loss. Tell me about them,” Vanessa asked gently.

“It’s ok. I’m gotten over it already. And besides I became a Lieutenant didn’t I” she asked.

Ashley Logan, CMO

“Were your parents in starfleet?”

Vanessa Slade. CNS

“Heh yeah. My father was a captain and my mother was an admiral. So they both recommended me to starfleet and so I joined and I got up this far in rank. I want to show them that I can do it. They died with honor, and I want to respect that honestly. So I joined to make them proud and by doing so is being captain of my own vessel.” She said to the counselor.

Ashley Logan, CMO

“A goal most officer aspire for or at least dream about. What would make you a good captain?”

Vanessa Slade CNS

“Well, as for that I’d say that I’m a really good candiate captain first of all and secondly, it’s cause I’m able to be a responsible and capable officer.” She said.

Ashley Logan, CMO

“Yes, but you did not answer my question. My question was what qualities would make you a good captain, not a good officer? They are very different things.”

Vanessa Slade CNS

“Oh uh well I don’t know exactly. All I want to do is to make my parent’s proud of me.” She said. Not knowing what to say.
