OOC: Yes, I am back. My apologies for the absence, it was unfortunate and unfair to all of you, but it was unavoidable. The charity I work for was advised a couple of months ago that they had 12 weeks to move out, prior to that the move out was required in the 2nd half of the year. then it became 3 weeks a week later and then all kinds of rumours were rampart, as it was denied by the landlord, it was not being spoken about by the government department, a local tv station covered the story and were hit by an injunction by the government which delayed it going to air, it eventually went to air, and then the government chose to talk to the charity about it … at least 12 months before the land is taken back for the railway to be expanded, so that’s all locked in.

Last year I had to take an extended period of leave for my mental health. I wasn’t meant to return until there was meaningful changes at the charity in terms of my workload, but I had to return and although I was back on a limited basis (1 day a week –> 2 days a week –> 3 days a week) not much had changed, the work required hadn’t changed, it took longer to get to the reporting as I was no longer bringing work home and working on it through to all hours, 7 days a week. I now don’t do that. The final piece of the puzzle has dropped into place, when an experienced 2nd finance person has been appointed for two days a week, and they are starting next week. This will enable me to focus more on the reporting side of the role and less on the data entry and processing side of it. There are also some projects to aid in reporting that I’ve wanted to get to, which I’ll now be able to get done, to help with decreasing the amount of time that’s needed across the charity to prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

These changes mentioned above will enable me to post within limits going forward. My thanks to all of you, especially Luke, for your patience with me.

I do need to finish getting ready to go to work, but I will have things up for you this time tomorrow (or earlier as I have no intention of being at work for 24 hours straight).

Sounds like quite the ride Russ! Glad to see you back.

My company is in the process of a move to a new building and the last several months of prepping is getting into the crunch of activity leaving me spotty in being on here too. After the move (17 days!!) and the dust has settled I’ll be in my little cave at the new office and hope that things are back in some consistency.
