T’Lora stood a familiar door, holding a PADD under her arm. She’d only just returned from her mandatory leave, but she wanted to get back into her old routine, and that meant coming to the intelligence offices. She felt a little guilty for not having informed Tom that she’d be gone, but he’d know that from personnel files. Unexpectedly showing up outside his office… that was a gray area. She’d call it a good surprise. With that in mind, she hit the door chime.

As her finger closed in on the chime the door slid open.

“Come in Doctor.”

Tom was sitting at his desk and holographic monitor feeds and data displays were sinking into the abyssal blackness of his desktop.

OOC: I completely lost it and thought I’d replied! I’m so sorry.

T’Lora stepped in, smiling slightly. “Hello Tom. I thought I ought to come by… now that I’m back.” She twisted her hands slightly, a tiny nervous tic. “Sorry I didn’t drop by sooner.”

Tom smiled easily.

“I’m sure you had your reasons. What brings you to my office?”

T’Lora flushed slightly, her cheeks tinging green. “This is when our meetings were scheduled for. I wanted to…” She faltered. “I’m not sure what I wanted. To tell you that I hadn’t forgotten I suppose. I mean, I forgot, but I didn’t…” She trailed off, not quite sure what she was trying to say. “Sorry.”

Tom looked confused.

“What do you mean your forgot but you didn’t? Are you referring to the recordings or is there some strange new development?” Tom asked.

T’Lora shook her head. “No, I used the recordings.” She paused and took a breath. “I didn’t want you to think I was using what happened to Ben as an excuse to stop talking to you.”

Tom still looked confused.

“I never considered that as a possibility.” Tom replied wondering where this was going if anywhere.

Tom was used to people suddenly stopping talking to him for a variety of reasons. Usually him being an Internal Security Officer was enough.
