Hi guys,

I was hoping that different department could prepare their own agenda for further contact with the Pallasians. Keeping the Prime Directive in mind, how much could the crew of the Genesis share with the first contact species. This means that the different departments need to use sensors and try to find out what level of technology, the kind of physiology the Pallasians have, etc. This should then be getting involved in the sim. I wish I could just put in scenario after scenario for the different departments but that would derail the original plan for the sim.

As we are facing a slight delay in the negotiations with the Pallasians on the Merry (not the Merrimack, as one post alluded to. <grins> ), I think we can occupy the different departments with this.

Considering that Internal Security is involved with security issues within the Federation I don’t see much for Tom to do other than side sim.

Tom is always welcome in the Zooalogy lab. Who knows maybe he will see something Tigress dose not.

I’m not sure what Chan could do in the main Sim. She’s robotics so not really needed for first contact. unless you want me to have Chan make a observation drone that is discreet and can be used to remotely monitor the population.

I just made the suggestion to keep the crew involved in the main sim. The side sims are also important to keep the crew active as well. Thanks!!

Folks, while you all have specialisations, you’re still able to do the basic engineering/science/medical stuff and a new species should excite all of you I should think…

Tigress: A new planet means completely new animals to study
Chan: Same goes for new kinds of technology
Medical can study this new species who have very different senses than humans

I agree in your case Mr. Jarvis :) but then that’s more of a general situation for you and you’re doing great on those side sims

My character doesn’t even know what’s going on. Nothing has been communicated beyond those on the bridge as far as I can tell, but certainly not to Sickbay. I think Sage was called away for an away mission (?), but that doesn’t mean Valleea knows anything. I’m happy to start something in Sickbay where it makes sense to but I need someone to bring Sickbay into the loop. I might have missed something though as I’ve had a couple LOAs since this sim started, but I do know that nothing has involved Sickbay so far.
