Upon entering Tom’s room Tigress could see that it was Spartan in it’s decor. Other than the wall mounted video display and speakers, a large gray rug, several monochromatic gray cushions, and a curved desk with a black panel that seemed to have a depth greater than the desk was high, the room seemed like any other unoccupied quarters except that the bed was made.

“Please come in.” Tom said, “Have a seat anywhere you like.”

Tigress steped into the room looking around she quietly realized this was not an office but Tom’s quarters. Tigress gave him a look “ I’m gessing you work from your quarters. I will make this clear I do not like traps or tricks. That being said let’s find out who tryed to kidnap the CMO” she said. The stament was intended as a worning. She was unshure of the space as well as Tom.

There were three chairs around the desk, one on the inner curve and two on the outer curve. The design of the chairs was adjustable. They could easily comfortably accommodate many physiologists including those with tails. There was also the bed, the rug, and the pile of cushions.

Tom stepped around to the inner curve of the desk and put his palm on it. A virtual keyboard appeared just above the desk and Tom input a long complex string of code for the password. A tiny blue spot on the desk flashed blue just before several holographic displays appeared suspended in the air above the desk.

Tom put the PADD Tigress had given him on the desk and ran his finger around it. Another display materialized above the desk with the data on the PADD scrolling by.

Tom, IntSec

Tigress sat on the opposit side of the fest from Tom. She watched the information on the screen. Her brain quickly shifting from Tom to look for patterns in the information. Often times that what most things came down to even hater had patterns. Animals had patterns of behavior and communication once one learned to look for patterns they were easer to spot and use.

“So,” Tom opened as the data scrolled by, “What do you do when you’re not working zoology?”

  • Tom, IntSec

Tigress blinked shifting her attention to Tom. What did she do in her free time she rarely had free time but she would make some for Ben. “ umm I don’t get much free time. The animals need a lot of time an energy. I do find time to hang out with Ben thow it’s funny how different he and I are. How about you? What do you do in your free time?” Tigress asked. There was a reason most of the crew avoided her. She was not very tactful and she in most cases seamed more animal the humanoid.

Tom arched an eyebrow.

“Well when I’m not observing the crew, I watch old style video entertainment.” he said indicating the screen on the wall across from the windows.

“ Do you just not like people or dose it have to do with your abilities?” Tigress asked. She wondered if she had found someone else on this ship that did not necessarily enjoy interacting with other people.
Ensign Tigress

Tom’s laugh was harsh.

“My abilities? You mean my curse. It’s hard to make a meaningful connection with people for prolonged interaction when no-one can remember me three minutes after parting. Every meeting is the first meeting with a few very rare exceptions. Yes, I can send reminder recordings or notes, but that just makes awkwardness on a whole different scale. Three minutes after you leave here you’ll forget any of this ever happened.”

  • Tom, IntSec

“ are you shure about that?” Tigress said with a slight smile. She stoped and thought trying to find the right words to explain what she was thinking. “ in some cases memory’s can be linked strongly to smell. It is possible that and individual with a higher sense of smell a associate information from a previous encounter with your smell. Well they may not remember your name they may remember information from an interaction. Smell communicates a lot when it come to animals. Humanoid how are more closely related to shuch animals in some cases have very similar cnections to that sence.” Tigress added. She looked at him turning her head sideways. “ you know it’s only a curse if you make it one” Tigress added after. Moment.
