Inhaling deeply, Valleea nodded. “I appreciate that. I don’t know how much you’d be able to help given that Krios Prime and Valt aren’t members of the Federation, but if my contact comes up with nothing, then I’ll let you know and we’ll see what we can do.”

Eyeing her nearly finished embroidery, the Kriosian gathered it up and gazed at it, smirking slightly. Her head felt a bit tipsy. “It’s good for my hands, but I still am amused that I feel compelled to do this old art. My mother was declare it a victory for her, I’m sure.”

Marishka nodded and gave a vicious little smile. It didn’t matter that Krios and Valt weren’t members of the Federation but that could be discussed at a later date. As for mothers and their victories, Mila would have thought Marishka being with Julien was a victory of some kind but Mila barely knew her own daughter.

“I think it’s very interesting. The things that parents find important in their child’s life usually says more about the parent than the child.”

Marishka paused and finished her drink.

“But that is, indeed, very beautiful.”

Valleea smiled and traced her fingers along the silk ribbons that were stitched into the fabric. When she looked up, for a moment there was a genuine contentedness. “You know, I’m starting to think there’s something weird about this ship. I keep talking to people I don’t even know in rather open ways. Trust me, it’s not normal. She smiled more. “Thank you, for listening.”

Marishka smiled and laughed.

“This ship brings out very interesting things in people. For example, I have never had a polite and genuinely enjoyable conversation with another female that’s lasted quite this long. Most women find a reason not to like me.” she said with a mischievous smile.
