Dagen looked at Tigress then at Tom. It seemed he knew before he himself did on any developments there. He replied, “As the XO is involved and from what I sensed they wanted to keep this quiet to not alert too many people to this perhaps until we know more.” His mind did a calculation. “I’d say less than a half hour ago.”
- Dagen, CE
OOC: I”d guess no red alert as this is a side sim and dont’ want to interfere with the main sim with a major situation like a red alert .. Gene

OOC: No, no red alert and side sims don’t necessarily happen at the same time as the main sim.

IC: Tom let his head drop, pinched the bridge of his nose between his thumb and fore finger, and gave a small sigh. Looking back up he continued out the door.

‘So much for compartmentalization.’ Tom thought as he started down the corridor.

Tom, IntSec

“Headache Lieutenant?” he asked as they moved along the corridor. As for Dagen, he had a team working on the stuff so he was confident that things were moving ahead. He could call and see how they were doing but that was micromanaging and not much time had passed yet. They could work out a ‘fix’. The problem is that Dagen didn’t know where the threat was coming from or how technical it was. It was not hard to fix a transport ‘issue’. It was harder to say it was a fix when they didn’t know what was behind it.
- Dagen, CE

Tom shook his head and kept walking.

Tigress finly realized that midnight had followed her. She looked at the cat how returned to the Zooalogy lab. She then followed Tom and Dagen. “ do we have any records of the energy or transmissions from the transport” Tigress asked there was a cerous exspretion on her face.
Ensign Tigress

Tom opened a pouch on his belt, and handed Dagen the bracelet and a small PADD, about a quarter the size of a standard one, with Tom’s scans. The bracelt was a simple ping transmitter with a biometric scanner set to make sure that it would only activate if put on by a certain person.

It was small. Not much to look at, but then transmitters didn’t need to be large anymore. The biometrics were a worry but then her information could have been garnered off a hair left at a table at any restaurant. It didn’t mean someone had delved deep into ship’s records to steal it. “Slick. They evidently had some knowledge of her movements on the ship. Has her quarters been scanned for any surveillance devices?”

“There were no records of the transport so the transporter logs were expertly wiped or there was a stealth vessel in transporter range that the signal was routed to. I’m still gathering information and was hoping to keep this compartmentalized for security reasons.” Tom said looking pointedly at Dagen as he said the last three words.

“All transporters have been shut down and locked out,” Dagen replied. “We’re looking at the potential transporter use.” He gave a sly sidelong look. “Even with records out there would be a footprint of power utilization. Transporters are not exactly economical on energy use. You can erase a log but you can’t erase power draws from the main systems.”

Tom waived his hand, “Remember compartmentalization, this should not be spoken of further to anyone without authorization from myself, the XO, or the Captain. The fewer people who know details, the higher the chance the suspect will be unaware of our progress. I’m hoping that something in these DNA tags will greatly narrow down the suspect pool.”

  • Tom, IntSec

“I’ll get on this transmitter. The amount of power in this may tell us how far the signal went to.”
-Dagen, CE

Tom nodded.

“And see if you can find anything indicating a power draw for the transporters around the time of the attempted abduction.”

Tom turned to Tigress.

“I’m not sure what else you can do unless you want to help me parse these references.”

  • Tom, IntSec

Tigress smiled “ I’ll help you find the References. Give me one moment to get midnight back in his enclosure” she said she disappeared back into the Zooalogy lab then came back to Tom. “ what’s your plan?” Tigress asked.
Ensign Tigress

Tigress had cut it close. Another thirty seconds and she would have forgot all about him. She would have remembered Dagen and her psyche would have created something to fill in the strange blanks.

“I’ll keep you updated,” Dagen said, peeling away from Tom and laying in his own course back to Engineering. He had a new thing to look at and investigate, and he wanted to see how the teams were doing back at HQ so to speak. The last thing he wanted to do was make the XO wait any longer than needed around the safety of his wife. The next to last thing he wanted to do was to fail at his plotting and preparing for the CMO’s safety.
- Dagen, CE

“I’ll send you a reminder in four minutes so you know this happened. Otherwise you’ll forget everything aobut me and just think you ahd some very awkward conversation with Ensign Tigress about this.” Tom called to Dagen’s retreating back.

Turning back to Tigress, “Follow me please.”

  • Tom, IntSec

“Shure” Tigress said following him. As she did Tom might note the agitated sway of her tail. She was agitated who would dare try something so crazy. The thought of anyone onboard the ship being put in danger actually mad the scientist agitated. “ sir you do you think someone who is part of the crew is behind this. Why would they target the CMO?” She said after a moment.
