Turbolift - Night Shift
Posted by Captain Julien King (Captain) in Turbolift - Night Shift Posted 18 June 2018 - 10:38pm by Ensign Jesrix Aevin (Engineer, BO Helm) (Sam Pennington) Posted by Ensign Niniane Fahr (Scientist) in Turbolift - Night Shift : : : : : “I noticed the same thing. And the two joined, Lt. Thor and myself just happen to both be engineers. An odd little coincidence.” He sent the reply. : : : : : : : : : : -Ensign Aevin, Helm : : : : : : : : He saw her nod. “Well I’m not. I’m also only half Trill.” came the short reply. : : : : : : : : - Niniane Fahr, sci : : : : : : >Trill-lite :P ;) XD< flashed momentarily on both screens then vanished as if it had never been there. : : : : : : Tom, IntSec : : : : She grinned, her curiosity peaked. She didn’t realise though that it was not from Aevin. Hours later, when the shift was over, she made her way to the turbolift, her blazingly blue Denobulan eyes looking back over her shoulder to see if Aevin was coming too. : : : : - Niniane Fahr, sci : : Aevin pushe his seat back from his station. As he moved to the turbolift to leave, he caught Niniane’s gaze. He followed her into the turbolift. : : -Ensign Aevin, Helm As the door swished shut, Niniane stood facing him, looking at the spots running down the side of his face, so much like her own spots. And yet she was a different species, she thought sadly. She would never have a symbiont and she would not live as long as a full-blooded Denobulan. “If you wouldn’t mind, I’d love to hear about Aevin’s previous hosts. My father used to tell me the stories of Par’s former hosts as bedtime stories. It’s been a very long time since I’ve been around another Trill.” she said in her deep voice that had a pleasant warm timbre to it.

Aevin chucked a little. “I’m the fifth Aevin, Jesrix. The first was Xandaer. He was a novelist. A good one, I like to think. Though as the years go by, fewer and fewer of his books sell. His life was full of strange times. Anytime he wrote about a different world, he would go there. And about a quarter of the time, offend the local culture in some way.”
“Next up: Shaela Aevin. She was a politician. Served in the Trill Senate for years and years before she joined the Federation Council. Oh the backstabbing and lying of politicians. She was so happy when she got a seat on the council. Not only was it a huge promotion, but she got away from the politics of politics.”
“Third: Jayne Aevin. She’s one of the more interesting ones to me. She combined the first two Aevins and became a successful journalist. She had a strong narrative voice, and was already a veteran writer, but she knew the ins and outs of politics better than almost anyone. Journalists and readers loved her, politicians hated her with a fiery passion. That was a fun life.”
“Fourth: Xaesho Aevin. Federation helm officer and pilot. Sound familiar? He was a Lt. Cmdr. by the end of his career. Served on the USS Washington for most of his time. Ended up best friends with the captain. But when the Washington was retired, he started teaching basic flight at the academy. That’s where we met. And now here I am. Essentially demoted several times over, but still enjoying my job as much as ever.”
“That’s my past in a nice, neat little bundle. What about you? You must have a life story.”
-Aevin
Niniane smiled coquettishly. “Well yes, I’m 85 years old you know. But hold a sec.... Xandaer Jesrix? I remember now! I did read a book from him once, when I was a lot younger. It was one of the things that made me curious about choosing a career path off planet!”
