Vora wasn’t all the keen on this either, but her son’s reaction worried her. “Jerrin? It’s okay, you don’t have to do this,” she said gently. “I’m just going to watch, I think.” Her discomfort with the holodeck didn’t quite cover this scenario but it just wasn’t her speed. Still, it was fun watching Cassidy tackle the course. But her concern was for Jerrin of course. “Jerrin?” she said, taking a step towards him when she noticed that his eyes were fixed on the scene and she wasn’t entirely sure he had heard her.

Jerrin didn’t immediately response. In fact, his maroon eyes were wide and fixed on something but it was hard to say exactly what.
Vor a waved her pale yellow hand in front of his face and saw there was no reaction, not even a blink.
Meanwhile, Cassidy was focused on not being attacked by the spiders so she didn’t see what was happening well behind her. As one of the spiders jumped into her path, Abrams dove and rolled to the side, popping to her feet the moment they hit the floor. She kept running, knowing that her level five spiders would be full of surprises, but she as used to improvising.

Sharah could suddenly feel the tension in the room, or maybe it was her own, but she heard Zorell call over to Jerrin. She glanced over to Zorell and Jerrin and didn’t like what she saw. She jumped to the floor, hitting the red, and negating her run. She made her way back to the wall and slammed the dials for Zorell and Jerrin to zero, stopping the spiders. She grabbed the medkit and moved over toward Zorell and Jerrin. Jerrin looked like he might be having a panic attack or close to it. “Hey Jerrin, it’s alright. I turned them off. It’s a little intense. We’ll just it and watch, okay?” She looked at Zorell, “Can I help?” Sharah didn’t like how upset Jerrin looked. “I wasn’t expecting it either. I guess I should have warned everyone, Trenton likes to keep us on our toes. But seriously, they’re dead in the water. Actually when I turned them off, the computer deleted them, see?” She points back to where they had been. “Do you want me to pause the program?”
En. Fayth, Doctor“Maybe,” Vora said. “But I don’t know exactly what it is that’s triggered him.” She looked at Fayth. “We both have eidetic memories that can be triggered by anything. It’s not always fun.”
Ashlyn heard the alert and saw the floor flash to signify that someone had touched the ground. Taking the chance she got low and looked out to see who had fallen out only to see Jerrin and Zorell never entered the game and the one that left was Sharah who left intentionally. Safety protocols were on so the boy shouldn’t have gotten hurt even if the spiders caught him. Was there an error in the programming? The last thing Ashlyn wanted was for her program to be deemed too dangerous so she rolled off the platform to also drop to the floor. As soon as she touched the floor, the horn sounded and the spiders dematerialized and vanished. In large neon lettering, it labeled Lieutenant Abrams as the winner being the only person still on the course.
Ashlyn walked over, allowing herself to catch her breath from the rather intense game she was playing. “Is he alright?”

Security, USS Europa“He will be,” Vora said, stepping to the side slightly. “But let’s give him a bit of space.”
Heart rate racing, Jerrin feel how hard it was to breathe and that was only reinforcing that strange but familiar sensation inside him. He couldn’t seem to get ahead of it until he remembered that it had happened during the whole dinner making therapy thing on the holodeck with Nox. He let him mind drift back to that moment and to the soothing sensation of the woman’s hand on his.
He finally took a breath.
And then he saw everyone around him and Cassidy walking towards them. Ah crap. “I’m fine,” he grumbled, backing up slightly.
~Jerrin
Zorell nodded. “I know. We’re just worried. You can tell us to get lost if you need to,” she told her son with a slight smirk, even though both of knew that wasnot going to happen.

Sharah wasn’t his doctor, and she wasn’t a counselor, but she knew what Jerrin was dealing with something from his past, distant or near she had no idea. She’d dealt with the same thing. She stepped back as if nothing was going on. She grabbed a bag she’d brought with her, opened it and took out several bottles. She deliberately handed one to Ashlyn first. She and Ashlyn both knew that look, they’d both dealt with it personally. Then she handed one to Cassidy, Zorell, and then Jerrin, making sure they all took one. “We’ve been going for a bit. Water, electrolytes and carbs. Sweat and burning calories can make us all a bit unsteady sometimes,” she said to Jerrin. “Every body drink up. Doctor’s orders.” Her voice was very no-nonsense. Panic attacks had a similar effect on the body, forcing a fight or flight response, so the sport drink was good for him no matter what. She turned to Zorell and nodded slightly. “I suggest some gentle stretching while you drink to make sure you don’t cramp up. I’ve got the med kit, but I’d rather not have to use it.” And to emphasize her point, she took several steady sips from her own drink and then moved to an open area and began stretching again, it was obvious she expected the adults to follow suit. Continuation was a good strategy at the moment, if Jerrin wanted to insist he was fine. Let him work it out. Zorell could push the issue later, or Sharah would if his body started showing signs of strain.
En Fayth, Doctor
Ashlyn got the hint really quick and accepted the bottle from Sharah. “Computer, change location, locker room beta.” The area flickered as it suddenly became a room with lockers, benches to rest on, and room to stretch for everyone without being the vastly open space it once was. Additionally, the room was lit with a dim blue light so as not to overwhelm anyone. The spiders and expanse of the beta park were gone and Ashlyn began to run through some stretching on her own, making sure to not face anyone. She didn’t need awkward right now and wasn’t about to let this situation give her that possibility.
