When the Europa arrived at Starbase 51, they would find a fairly standard starbase located between a couple different worlds. There were about a dozen ships in the area. Two were sabre class, the USS Stow and the USS Gwinn were out on patrol near the edge of the system. The Norway- Class USS Medina was standing station near the starbase. In addition to the federation ships, there were two ferengi freighters, one approaching the system and the other leaving. A small cardassian cruiser was also parked outside the station. There were two small ships, a design that was not known to the Europa were also parked near the starbase. There was also 4 star fleet runabouts in a local patrol around the station, flying in close patrol in pairs.

OOC: Assuming our favorite captain is on the bridge and manning the ship with orders.

Arriving now, Avik looked to the CO on the bridge. Her figure was standing in the upright and alert posture which was expected of an XO. She didn’t bother stating the obvious that they have arrived because the CO could see it. Instead, she waited for orders before acting, ensuring not to show up her superior officer.

OOC: Instead of writing notes like this, could you just send me an AWOL notice if I’m AWOL? And we established previously that it was Avik’s watch, so you should be able to keep things moving here without the presence of my character. Generally speaking, we should be avoiding situations where the entire sim stops for two weeks just because one person is missing, regardless of who that person is.

I’m sorry to be blunt about this publicly, but I really don’t want to see people writing notes like this if we’re stuck, because they’re often not helpful. The point of bumping something should be to keep it from falling off the board, not to get someone’s attention. I want to make sure that everyone is on the same page about that. Everyone here should have my email address and everybody else’s email address, or can use the contact form, if they need more immediate attention.

Just FYI, my keyboard and my phone have both been broken and that’s the main reason why I’ve been recently missing. I’ve just recently replaced my phone but I haven’t replaced my keyboard, so I still have limited ability to post. I will be trying to rectify that this weekend so I’ll update you all as things continue. I am sorry for the delay.

Let’s see, Oh nice, you are a Discovery-Class. I always wanted to serve on one. But they assigned me to this outpost, I mean starbase, I mean…Maybe once you are done with your deep space assignment I can transfer to your ship. I wish I could go with you.” She continued on....
“Deep space is what I signed up for, but they sent me to this wild west starbase, where the most exciting I’ve seen is a spider in blue jeans, but even that wore off after a while. Anyway, we have you assigned to internal dock 34, Starbase Maintenance division wants to know if you will be switching out your mission modules before you depart? Oh, I forgot, silly me, you crew is free to use all the amenities for your shore leave, I suggest that they visit the 51st Street Bar and Grill, best food in Starfleet I promise with a wine selection to please any pallet.=^=

Avik’s head tilted to the side. The woman’s tone wandered far from the customary prime, orderly fashion of most officers the Vulcan was used to. She found it intriguing and strange at the same time. During her time on the last ship she served on, she had rarely exposed to these outpost settings. It would be an educational experience at least.

Slightly worried that the CO might find the woman’s behavior an unpleasant reminder of the last JO batch, she stepped forward to take charge for his benefit.

“Captain, allow me to answer that,” she said respectfully then turned to the woman on the intercom, “From our last CE’s notes, I believe they do need to be switched out according to the maintenance schedule left behind.”
