This was all really dramatic, but Johann was confused. “So how long is it going to take for him to like, you know… wake up?” he asked.

This seems like this isn’t as big a deal as we thought… he thought. Though, nothing ever good happens when you wake someone out of a cryo pod just in space. It’s basically sealed evil in a can, every damn time.

OOC: Really? Sealed evil in a can?

“You already made sure he doesn’t have like… altered DNA or anything creepy like that, right?”

Standing closer, Cassidy peered towards the pod and finally got a look at the occupant. Her icy blue eyes went wide. “Huh, did not see that coming…” she muttered before her head snapped in Ashlyn’s direction. “Trenton, run a query through the Starfleet and civilian databases. Ping anything security related, especially. Look for someone by the name of Shane Warwick and his last known whereabouts,” she said seriously.

Looking to Dvorak, she understood that currently they were the only two people in the room who would know that name. “He had an alias before too. What was it?” she said, drumming her hand on her thigh for a moment. “Doctor… something. Law?” It had been years and honestly the man had been more of an irritant than anything. A charming irritant, however, though his advances had been unwanted and she couldn’t help but smirk a tiny bit when she remembered that odd little meeting between him and herself and Vora.

Sharah looked at Dr. Zarath and typed into the console next to her. On his screen would be her request for medical records for one Shane Warwick or a Doctor Law. She didn’t know if there were records, but if there were, Dr. Zarath would be able to see them on his screen inside the containment field.
En. Fayth, Doctor

Fayth’s Star Fleet medical records search for one Shane Warwick would show service aboard three starships over his Star Fleet career. USS Ajax, USS Atlantis, USS Dresden.
Medical entries appear for him on two other starships as a civilian: USS Europa, and USS Resolution.
Under the known alias of Doctor Carson Lowe, he served on three more starships: USS Europa, USS Draco, and USS Crusader.

There are three major medical issues with Shane Warwick (aka Carson Lowe)
1) The Europa discovered after retrieving Warwick from a botched cryogenic procedure, that bone marrow in his hip and femurs was damaged. Long tern affects could involve blood disorders and immunity issues.
2) While aboard Resolution, Warwick was injected with a common floor cleaner in an assassination attempt. The medical staff rescued him by beaming him out then using the transporter bio filters to remove the foreign substance from his blood. It is unknown what long term effects this might have.
3) Warwick drinks and smokes to excess causing scarring on his lungs and liver from repeated repairs.

USS Ajax: After an incident in the Badlands, Ensign Warwick struck a senior officer and stole a shuttle filled with medical supplies. He was caught, tried, and convicted of Theft of Federation Property, Assault, and Conduct Unbecoming. Dishonorably discharged he was sent to the New Hebrides Penal Colony.
New Hebrides Penal Colony: Seven years into his sentence, a riot erupted. Warwick was instrumental in providing care for wounded security personnel and assisted in brokering a deal between the prisoners and the warden.
USS Atlantis: Under an improvised parole deal Warwick was allowed to serve his remaining years aboard Atlantis under the direct supervision of Captain Jacobs. His commission was temporarily reinstated.
USS Dresden: Captain Jacobs accepted a new assignment and Warwick transferred to the USS Dresden. There was unsubstantiated rumors the Ens. Warwick had forged the transfer orders. Petty crime started to increase aboard once Ens. Warwick arrived. Warwick stole a shuttle and escaped custody within hours of the end of his ten year sentence. An infusion of cash to Dresden’s general fund at Fleet Command in the amount of a class two shuttle was logged. It is suspected that Ens. Warwick had made the deposit.
USS Europa: Doctor Warwick was brought aboard after being found adrift in a class two shuttle, her USS Dresden markings still visible. 17 cases of medical supplies were aboard that had last been tracked to a transport reported missing. Warwick claimed them as salvage and was transporting them to a colony. Warwick escaped after Europa security personnel discovered that Warwick had run afoul of a Klingon crime family and needed to offload the cargo to settle the debt.
USS Resolution: Doctor Warwick’s brother was a key witness in the trail of a known Orion overlord. StarFleet’s JAG Corps was unable to properly protect this witness. Believing there was a credible threat on his life, Doctor Warwick was transferred to the Resolution and given the alias, Jeremy Huber. This did not stop the threat, and Doctor Warwick survived an attempt on his life. He left to prevent additional attempts.
USS Dresden. Doctor Warwick reappeared and requested Europa’s aide in tracking a known assassin. While aboard, the Huber alias was officially ended. Doctor Warwick escaped yet again.
USS Draco: Ens. Carson Lowe appears and begins to serve. It is unknown how Warwick’s commission was reinstated. After an attempt to promote him to Lieutenant Junior Grade, and make him Chief Medical Officer. Lowe refused. A reprimand was entered into his service record. It has since been expunged.
USS Crusader. Ens. Lowe served for a short time before abruptly resigning his commission.

Trenton wasn’t sure what to make of these records, clearly, this individual was a repeat offender yet he kept getting reinstated for some reason. There wasn’t enough information present in the records and Ashlyn’s desire to dig deeper was offset by her need to stay on task. “The last known location of Shane Warwick according to these records was the USS Crusader under the alias Carson Lowe. There is something…off about these records, but that may just be a personal observation. Shall I prepare a cell in the brig?”

Abrams shook her head. “No cell. Unless there is an active arrest warrant out, he’s done nothing wrong and we are not going to treat him like a criminal,” Cassidy said with some emphasis. “However, I want someone here at all times. We will still take precautions until we know what the story is here.

Sharah was studying the medical records when she heard Trenton’s brief report. She reserved comment, but she thought his medical file didn’t leave much for optimism either. “He has a history of liver and lung damage, survived an assassination attempt, and a botched cryo procedure.” And stopping herself from saying anything more, she thought the man may have brain damage as well if he willingly got back into another cryo pod after the first time.

En. Fayth, Doctor

Cassidy almost laughed, except that it would have been exceptionally inappropriate under the circumstances. But it followed what she remembered about Shane. Irreverent to the core, even at his own expense.

The Andorian looked at the reports on his screens and minimized one that had popped up unbidden among the others, which seemingly held his attention for longer than the others… It wasn’t one of the reports sent by Fayth.

Antennae waving in mock outburst, Zarath looked through the field at Dvorak. “You’re worried about disease and contagion, but you felt perfectly fine about putting me inside a force field with a known criminal? I’m going to have to double check your psyche eval, Captain…” The satire was clear in his tone, the sarcasm meant to break some of the tension in the room.

However, contrary to his feigned outburst, Zarath was working hard to make sure the man remained stable as the pod thawed and brought him out of stasis. “There’s going to be trouble with his immune system, there was damage to marrow which severely weakened his immunity responses. It may even be a permanent issue he’ll have to deal with. That’s going to make things difficult. Captain, do you want this man conscious?”

Cassidy did. She wanted answers. Answers that Warwick could most likely provide. But either way, she didn’t intend to let this man out of their sight.

As Zarath monitored the restoration process, it seemed that despite the damage to the pods power core, the process was progressing smoothly.

“He’s a survivor,” Cass said. “That much I remember about him.” that and he was a terrible flirt who tried to smoothly work he way into people’s good graces to get what he wanted. She hadn’t bought into it before, and it wasn’t going to happen now.

Bump for the Captain… Should we awaken Mr. Warwick? Remember that cryo-pods tend to concentrated evil in a can…

Without any user input, and perhaps due to a fault in the onboard software or a short in the hardware or maybe even a hidden directive that activated after power was restored and the vital signs were stable enough, the pod activated its awakening protocols and began the process of bring Shane out of the induced sleep. This process could not be interrupted without risking the occupants life.

“Well, someone’s coming to dinner, ready or not.” The Andorian punched a button and began prepping to scan for any contagions from inside the pod once it opened.

Well… crap. Though to be honest Cassidy was eager from information and they couldn’t obtain that without the help of Mr. Warwick. She looked back at Ashlyn and gave a ‘be ready for anything’ look, though what they expected the cryogenic man to do immediately out of stasis she couldn’t really say.

Sharah was watching from outside the force field and wasn’t too thrilled that Dr. Zarath was in there alone, or in there at all. If there was surgical procedures to be done there was a whole other set of equipment he would need, and she began to gather them, placing them on the portable table as well. Sharah also grabbed a set of scrubs for herself. Surgery could be done solo, but it wasn’t wise, and she’d go in to help Zarath if he needed it.
En. Fayth, Doctor

“Doctor Fayth, once I’m satisfied there’s no threat of contagion, you may join me.” Zarath turned his eyes to Abrams quickly, trying to get a read from the Security Chief. he’d caught indicators from her that she knew this person and wasn’t thrilled to be seeing him again… “Chief, our guest will likely be too weak to be a physical threat, but if you have security concerns, now would be the time to address them…”

“Nah, he’s not been a threat in the past,” Cassidy said. “Can’t guarantee anything at the moment though. But I will give him the benefit of the doubt given he’s never been anything more than annoying to me.” She couldn’t help but smirk slightly.
