“Naturally, the ship won’t run herself smoothly all the time and someone needs to be up to clean up the messes,” Cait said proudly as she continued to keep pace with the others.

Briefly her eyes darted over her shoulder to see if Erikson was following. Tension bundled into her shoulders and muscles upon spotting him not with them, but she didn’t comment on it. It appeared she didn’t want to draw attention to it.

“Sooo… when are we going to get the ship up and running then be off? I want to present when you work on her,” Cait asked.

-Janice B.

Sienna watched as he relaxed. While he still wasn’t telling her the entire truth, this was far more of the truth than he had ever given. She nodded and tried to smile reassuringly, turning to continue walking slowly. Her eyes briefly met Cait’s but she simply continued smiling softly, not wanting to make the woman more tense than she was. By the way Erikson called his crew “individuals”, she believed they had not been a crew long at all. It was possible he made a decision besides locking them away until the pirates left that had them frustrated with him. For now, she would not push.

“I am afraid I do not know what the schedule is for repairing your ship. Our main concern was the crew. Once you are all settled, I am sure the Chief Engineer will come speak with you about time table and list of necessary repairs.”

Nox, CNS

OOC: bumping this back to the front page as I forgot about it. Will reply tomorrow.

-Janice B.

Cait frowned at Nox. She was annoyed at the lack of information then gradually shrugged it off, not letting it bother her. Her head nodded, her expression softening now, as she commented on it, “Thanks, I appreciate it. The ship suffered a lot of damage, but she’s a tough old dame. It will take a lot more than pirates to keep her down.”

“There’s a lot to get done when we get back to the dock,” Erikson interrupted a moment, commenting to seemingly no one. His eyes were cast slightly lower while he continued to follow the others.

OOC: After you both reply, I’m going to move the scene to where you two can drop the group off. Then I will move to another thread and progress the story.

-Janice B

“I’m sure we’ll be able to get you going in a reasonable timeframe,” Cassidy chimed in as they moved along the corridor.

Ensign Abrams, Security

OOC: Think I’m waiting for any additional interrogation from Amber’s characters before I move on. Also bumping this up so I can refer back to it later as a New Sim started.

-Janice B.

“Our Engineers are very good and will get your ship into shape quickly. You will leave with it in as good or better condition than before this trouble. Should we make an special accommodations for your cargo?” Sienna asked innocently.

Nox, CNS

OOC: Alright folks, going to leave this in a cliffhanger and move forward with the plot. Then I’ll likely start another thread with some fun happening.

IC: Erikson shook his head, “Likely the pirates already stole what they wanted or it was destroyed in the clash. I think right now, all we need is some rest and relax. Anything that’s left doesn’t need any special requirements to keep.”

The man looked unease about the future as the group began to make their way to their quarters. Most of them ignored Erikson, their attention settled into social behaviors and relief now. They seemed to be gradually accepting their salvation. Each of them bid the two officers goodbye, then entered their assigned quarters. After about an hour, each of the individual crew members slowly edged out of their rooms toward Erikson’s.

The man was expecting them as he gestured them inside quickly. None of them appeared to be happy to be here, but they couldn’t avoid it. Cait promptly went to work to locate and disable any hidden cameras or means to spy on them in the room. When all seemed to be disabled, Cait was the first to break the silence.

“I can’t believe you agreed to this.”

Erikson flinched then snapped back, his guilt pushed aside by his anger hitting its boiling point.

“It was the only way or they were going to kill us! Do I need to remind you why we’re doing this?”

A heavy quiet flooded the room before the man sighed, his fingers pressed to his nose bridge to cool his temper. After several moments he gestured for the two passengers to replicate some food and for them all to sit down. They needed to talk.

“We’re in this mess now together and there’s no use fighting it. We all know what’s at stake… So what’s our plan?”
