“If they could take the Tian,” He left the rest unsaid. The Europa was a tough little explorer, but she was primarily an explorer not a combat ship nor did she pretend to be. Not like the old Galaxies that were explorers with enough firepower to take on battleships.

“Although, I wouldn’t be opposed to a little payback. A ship like that probably would need a base nearby, can’t just stop at a star-base or a Federation world to repair, refuel, and rearm after taking on a Starship.”

Maybe the ‘payback’ is the point, the Captain thought. Where there was one starship, there are now three, and they all had to come from somewhere… Except that line of thought still didn’t make much sense, at least not with the limited set of facts at their disposal.

“‘Probably’ is right, Mr. Marsh,” he said aloud. “I’m sure we’ll find it.”

“Scans are clear, perhaps Commander we have enough time for a little meal.”

Marsh

“That’s probably not a bad idea, if you haven’t had something decent to eat already,” the Captain said, knowing that Steven probably had his own reasons for suggesting such a dinner. “I should probably keep monitoring things here, but if you want to escort our guests to Nine Forward for something better than what they’ve probably been stuck with, I think we can spare you both.” He of course meant Cassidy and Steven.

Norene shook her head. “Not unless you count my last one about eight hours ago.”

Cassidy couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’m sure a shower and a meal will do wonders.”

“Thank you Sir, Commander, Lieutenant.” He gestured towards the turbo lift. “I’m certain rations on the planet weren’t quite up to level of what we can replicate on board.”

Marsh

“Hey, I last had ration pack 23. Vegetable ragù with rice. Not entirely terrible,” Norene said, managing a small, if weary, grin. “Could have been a lot worse.” regardless of the immediate stressors, she understood that her crew had been exceptionally lucky. The casualties had been less then if they had stayed and fought, and they had managed medical care under terrible conditions and only lost one person so far due to injuries. The rest… well, all they could do was hope, pray and trust in the medical teams fo these three ships to do the best they could.

Before they could leave entirely, Vora caught Cassidy’s gaze. “Room 327,” she said, noting the VIP quarters that she had taken the initiative of assigning to Commander Abrams so Cass didn’t have to do it herself. She also knew this was a tense and emotional time for her friend and while she was immensely curious to meet Cass’ mother, the poor Commander looked about ready to fall over if given the chance and she knew there would be time later. She could only hope that the father made it through surgery to join in the reunion as well.

Norene gave Vora a nod of her head, recognizing the woman who clearly had to be her daughter’s best friend.

Cassidy smiled at Vora, deeply gratified by her friend’s presence of mind. “Thank you,” she said before they moved into the turbolift.

OOC: I’ll split this and have them go to the VIP quarters. If they want to go elsewhere after, we can and we will just see what all shakes down in the Sickbay thread.
