Mattie was going over the scans from the original position where they got the coordinates she was trying to piece together if there was a bouy or an actual ship that had the coordinates of the pod. It was strange that the pod was just floating in space, where was the ship, how had it come to be where it was . Did it have something to do with the place they were going? Mattie continued monitoring the ships systems to ensure that there were no issues.CE
The original source of the encrypted distress call was a low-powered beacon that had been floating in space for some time. The separation of the beacon from the pod was likely to ensure that the pod wouldn’t be found by anyone other than those who could decrypt a Starfleet cipher. There were no residual warp signatures or evidence of a ship having been in the area as far as could be told. So far the ship systems seemed fine and running normally.

Avik’s eyes blinked. Confusion entered her mind, but her mask didn’t reflect it. She took a moment to digest his statement then responded.
“Ejection log is a good place to start. A pod can normally be traced back to a specific ship and some times it leads to more answers.” Movement caught her attention as she noticed the CE enter and scan something on the console.
“Chief Engineer Sullivan. If you are looking into the pod’s information then please share your discoveries. It might help us.” She didn’t know for sure if the CE was doing this or not, but she had learned something about her department heads over time.

OOC: For the sake of moving things along, nothing more about the pod will be discover-able. You’ll need to get the story out of the occupant. :p
It was about a week and a half before the Europa dropped out of warp at the edge of the destination system. This was a system with binary white dwarfs, typically thought to be uninhabitable due to the higher levels of radiation present. A quick sensor sweep would discover that the only habitable planet was tidally locked in position on the opposite side of a gas giant. The gas giant was effectively shielding the planet from the majority of the radiation thrown off by the binary stars. In orbit of the populated planet was a very crude looking space station. Docked up to the space station were three spacecraft. One of the craft could very well have been the warp capable vessel.

Avik was on duty during this time. Her figure rose from her seat as she contacted the Captain, summoning him to the bridge. Patiently the XO observed the image on the viewscreen while they waited for Dvorak to arrive. It wouldn’t take long.
