Sharah was already done with her check ins and per Dr. Zarath’s orders she was getting extra sleep. First she sent a message off to Joseph.
I finished my check-ins yesterday. The CNS is Betazoid. So I didn’t really have to explain my condition. That was a relief and she understands my basic treatment plan. That was a nice surprise. The CMO is Andorian. I’ve never worked with an Andorian before, but he is very good at his job and I’m looking forward to learning from him. I can’t ‘hear’ him. A little empathy feedback but that’s it. I know there are species that Betazoids can’t ‘hear’ but I never looked into it. I guess Andorians are one of them. You’ll be happy to know that Dr. Zarath believes quite strongly in my getting sleep. We came in late and were up early to report, and since his scans showed fatigue he gave me 48 hours off and ordered me to sleep a minimum of 16 hours with the alpha inducer. Before we were transferred he was the only medical personnel on board, so we have a very small duty crew. He has a strange sense of humor and uses sarcasm a lot. And you know I don’t really understand that. It’s made some of our conversations…” Sharah pauses searching for a way to describe it, “difficult because I don’t always get the nuance of what he’s saying.” She shrugs trying to accept her social ineptitude in this instance. “I’ve requested to be allowed to work in the arboretum. I hope I’ll hear soon. If not I’m going to create a miniature green house in my quarters for the plants.”
Sharah stops rubbing her temples. A clear sign she’s over tired. “The rhythm of this ship is so different. I’m having trouble getting on top of it. I haven’t slept much yet, so I better get some before Dr. Zarath shows up. I’m sorry for the short letter tonight, but I think I’d better try to get some extra sleep. I miss you, Imzadi.

Sharah checks the clock. She goes over to her Bonsai tree and adds the plant food to the water dish. Then she heads to bed. In about 5 hours Ashlyn will be back and Mara should be stopping by and they’d start on fixing their quarters.
