Dr. Zarath told Sharah he was fine with her continuing her research, but she would have to talk to the science department. Once she had some free time she quirred the computer and discovered the CSO Lt. Marsh was in his office. Sharah took a deep breath. If the CSO said no, she was going to have Mara and Ashlyn help her build a mini green house in their quarters so she could grow her own plants. This wasn’t a deal breaker for her research. She’d find another way, but hopefully this way would allow her to make connections in other departments and allow her working access in the arboretum. Sharah pressed the chime and waiting.

En. Fayth, Doctor

“Come,” Marsh yelled sound didn’t transmit well through office walls, but he must have bellowed. One of these days he would just have to use the audio door activation system and save his throat.

Marsh stared at her for a moment as she entered. “Ensign, Fayth, by what wind brought your ship to my shore?” Marsh smiled pleased with himself for recalling the name of one of the flood of Ensigns who appeared on the Europa from the Academy ships.

Fayth stepped into the room and smiled, feeling rather complimented that he knew who she was…or…oh…did he know about her condition? Her smile faltered a little but then remained in place. “I was told, Lt Marsh, you were the person to talk to about use of the Arboretum. I have some research I would like to continue that involves medicinal plants. I have a minor in botany, as well, so I’d be more than happy to take on extra shifts to care for the other plants.” Fayth figured it was best to get straight to the point before she got too nervous to ask.
