The visit with the Counselor had gone better than Trenton could have hoped and she was on her way to her last onboarding stop on her checklist before she could get to the holodeck to install and use the Trenton Park program. She wasn’t even sure she would make it to her quarters to change into more appropriate clothing, the uniforms were utility enough that they could still be used without hampering movement enough to matter. Trenton shook her head to get her thoughts back together, looking at the PaDD while heading toward the Security Office to better know the Chief of Security for the Europa. Lieutenant Junior Grade Cassidy Abrams had some interesting marks in her record that would be great for conversation, and clearly didn’t start off as Security but transferred into it. Having a major in Botany would give her something to share with Sharah later, making this the second time her friend was involved with her boss. The thought made her chuckle, ‘How mad would Rainns be if she hooked up with this CoS?’ All joking aside, Ashlyn hoped to have a better relationship with this leader compared to her last. Rainns’s use of Negative Reinforcement made him difficult to understand even when he was trying to encourage the then young cadet. This strained their relationship with mutual distrust that just didn’t make sense in the long run. Though their parting was amicable, Trenton still didn’t understand why he has so much distrust of her.Having made it to the security office, Trenton took a moment to get the Conference to come to order and prepare for the potential list of questions that would come. Having a science background meant there was a chance she would be more interested in her analytical abilities, perhaps they would be willing to help hone Trenton’s investigative techniques for her future with Starfleet Intelligence. Being a Marksman would also mean weapons expertise, which would mean a chance to improve her skills with phasers which, while adequate, were still very average. With a deep calming breath and a schooled neutral mask, Trenton pressed the chime.

Security, USS EuropaMany security chiefs were people of action. In general they disliked sitting about whenever possible. Cassidy Abrams was no exception. But there was a certain amount of paperwork that was required and she preferred to hunker down and get it down so she could go out and actually be a chief. Which meant different things to different people, but for her she wanted to be out training with her team and practicing as much as they were.
But right this moment was paperwork day and it was convenient because she had been reading through the transfer files that had hit her inbox. At the chime, Abrams looked up. “Come on in,” she said simply, reflexively tightening her blond ponytail. Her crisp blue eyes assessed the newcomer with sharpness as well as curiosity.

Trenton is short, lean, and wears her uniform with practice and precision. While it hides most of the scars that cover Ashlyn’s body, there are a few that peek out from under the uniform. Most notably is the missing pinky on the right hand and the subdued reconstruction scars on her face just under her left eye. Her brunette hair cut short match her brown eyes that seemed to be stuck on the Chief of Security. Trenton’s face doesn’t show anything but there are a lot of thoughts going through her mind visible to anyone that pays attention to her eyes. It takes a good two minutes of being lost in her sea of thoughts before she can finally pull herself together enough to say something. “Wow, I mean, Ensign Ashlyn Trenton reporting for duty.” There was a break in her controlled demeanor when she started, but a rapid shake of the head brought things back into control. “Apologies, what I have of your record left stuff out, and now I’m trying not to be awkward while being horribly awkward.”

Security, USS EuropaTilting her head slightly, Cassidy couldn’t help but smirk. She gestured to one of the two chairs at the desk. “Have a seat, Ensign, and feel free to elaborate on what my file left out.” Her curiosity had been piqued, but the amusement had been inevitable. Abrams was the kind of person people easily underestimated. She was slight in build, if not height, and she wore her confidence easily. She was social and easy going, the kind of person her friends always would have said couldn’t hurt a fly. And then they’d step onto the phaser range for their quals, or onto the mat for hand-to-hand combat, and it was clear that Cassidy moved with a fluid ease informed by a sharp mind.
She had grown accustomed to the current team, but the COS had to admit that it was going to be nice to have some new folks around. So far she hadn’t really had to incorporate many new people into the team, so it was going to be, not necessarily a challenge, but a different aspect to her role than she had had before.
Abrams, COS
Trenton took her time moving closer to the COS, taking in more of her form and curve before taking a very controlled seat. More thoughts were clearly racing through her mind, probably making this more awkward for her than it needed to be. “It…uh…So I have a holodeck program I brought with me from the Challenger called Trenton Park. It’s themed for a minimalist cyberpunk setting, so lots of vibrant colors on very muted and purposeful structures. Anyway, the park itself is designed to be a haven for parkour.” Trenton let that hang for a moment as she tried to sort out more thoughts that she knew would get her into trouble. “I used to teach a class in my downtime and I’d love for you to come. I, uh, think you would enjoy it.” Ashlyn held her breath without intending to, waiting to see how this COS would respond to the offer of parkour.
