After so long in the Federation, shaking hands was not unusual a greeting for her but Vora still had to think about it. There was only a brief moment of hesitation before she took Fayth’s hand and gave it a firm shake. “I’m Vora Zorell, and this”-she gestured with her head to the one beside her-“is my son, Jerrin.”
Jerrin just gave a nod of greeting.
Vora gave the doctor a smile. “I’d be happy to join you but I think Jerrin is heading off to do studies, yes?” she said, querying her son.
“Yeah. Gotta go,” Jerrin said. “Bye.” And with that, he took off.
Vora just looked amused and startled chuckling. “He’s a boy of many words, clearly,” she joked. “I’m just going to grab something and I’ll be right back.”

Sharah saw Vora hesitate and realized she must have made some inter species gufaw. “It’s nice to meet you Jerrin,” she said as the boy took off. She grinned and shook her head as he took off. Obviously ready to be with kids his age. “Of course, I’ll be right here.” Sharah picked up her grilled cheese to eat it before it got cold. She probably would be living on these things for a few weeks. Wait....Zorell, that’s who the CMO told her to talk to about the Arboretum. Well her or the CSO. She wondered if Zorell was also a deep lover of plants.
En. Fayth, DoctorVora returned with a bowl of some sort of yellow-coloured stew that left off an earthy spiced scent, with a side of some sort of dark crusty bread. Also on her tray was a mug of what smelled definitely like coffee. the tall woman slipped into the chair across from Sharah and gave her a smile. “So, welcome to the Europa? How are you finding things so far?” she said as she tore off a bit of bread and dipped it into the stew.

Sharah took a sip of her water. The coffee smelled great, but she couldn’t touch the stuff. No caffeine for her. “I’m finding it like deja-vu. Our cadet ship was a discovery class, so I’m thrilled to know where everything is, but at the same time it’s very different. We came on board late last night. So most of us are doing,” Shara stops suddenly, seemingly having lost her train of thought and her thoughts else where, “I’m sorry. We’re doing onboarding today. I can’t wait to get into duty though.”
En. Fayth, DoctorVora grinned. “Well, I’m sure it’ll go quick and you’ll be at things in no time. The Europa is a good ship. It was my first posting after I left the Academy and I’ve seen a lot of changes, so I can tell you that it’s a good place to be. It’s been a good home,” she said softly, her maroon eyes expressing the happiness she was so surprised to have found here.
“So… newly graduated. What sorts of mischief did you and your fellow classmates get up to?” Zorell said, her eyes lighting up with amusement as she ran a hand over her mass of cherry hair.

Sharah bit back her first thought, Oh just getting infected with a nasty parasite, going crazy, and almost dying. She thought about the rest of it though. “Oh you know how cadets are. We’re very into everything. Some of the engineers sent the security teams running after fake alarms one night. Had a couple of bar fights and had to patch them up. So many romantic relationships. And I believe security was having trouble with contraband in the care packages.” Sharah smiled, pulling the information from the information she had ‘over heard’ while she was on Challenger. For the most part she hadn’t mingled too much. “Oh and then there was that time about 8 of use all literally collided in the corridor and it was like a human knot. The COS showed up just as we were figuring out what happened. He wasn’t too happy with the chaos we had created. We all got away though.” Sharah laughed at the memory, it was bitter-sweet. “Oh and Cadet, I mean En. Trenton started a Parkour class. She’s my room mate now and I’m hoping she’ll start the class again.” Sharah stopped, had she talked too much?, did she think it more than say it? Gah this is why she is so bad socially.
“What about you? What’s it been like on Europa, coming as a cadet?”
En. Fayth, Doctor
Vora couldn’t help but chuckle at all the antics. It sure sounded like chaos, but the fun kind. The kind that you made good memories from. “Well, it’s been ten years now, which is unusual, but sort of how things worked out. But my first days were a bit rough and awkward. At the Academy I could just buckle down and focus on my studies but out here I had to really find my place. I hadn’t been in the Federation all that long really, so I was still getting use to dealing with other species and their customs and colloquialisms.” She tapped her head. “Lucky for my I’ve got an eidetic memory. It definitely made some parts easier.”
