Sienna had not been back to the Sickbay since she had first arrived on the Europa and had been given orders to remain there as their Counselor. The ship had a sore need for one so she had found value in her work here. But she had come to an impasse in her search for the man who had stranded her here in this universe. Thus far, no leads had presented themselves to her or Star Fleet. So, she waited.Siennadye missed home. She missed her husband and friends. And though she had some of their counterparts here, it wasn’t the same. She could not walk up to the mirror of her husband and kiss him. Commander Range had moved on and though she heard from some mirror versions of her friends from home, they weren’t actually her friends. The Siennadye Nox who had been the XO of the Europa before was now trapped in her universe with no way to come home probably feeling every bit as homesick as the woman in this universe.
It had been a strange few years and though she was no closer to returning home, she was finding a small amount of balance here. She couldn’t say she had made any deep friendships, but she was opening herself up little by little. Sienna had made herself a home here.
As she walked into Sickbay for her appointment with the new CMO, she thought about the last CMO. Through their sessions together, she had helped him come to terms with his PTSD and years of trauma creating barriers that kept him from making friends here and creating a life outside his medical bay office. He was on mandated leave and would likely not return to ship service, but he had found a measure of peace and she hoped he would gain more with the help of the doctor she had referred him to.
She knew the new doctor was Andorian and he would soon have to visit her for his psychological check up.
Nox, CNS
“Ah, Counselor.” The Andorian’s voice was rough but not unpleasant. His antennae curled forward and slightly around as he turned his head to acknowledge her. He stood near a readout screen, leaning hard on his ebony cane, but was coming around to greet Siennadye as she came in. “We haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting, I’m Doctor Zarath, Tolar Zarath. How may I be of service?” Zarath was shorter than most people expected and looked rather grim most of the time. He walked with a pronounced limp, the cane helped somewhat. However, his bedside manner was charming enough. He’d read her file of course, and her medical history as he had done for the entire senior staff.

Sienna’s smile in response was kind and sweet. “Good afternoon Doctor Zarath. I am glad to meet you. We have been expecting a new doctor for some time but the previous one took a while to “say his goodbyes” as it were. I am here for my physical. I haven’t had one since I first came on board and I thought it would be a good time to meet you and make sure to remind you that you will need to make an appointment to get your mental evaluation done. I promise, I don’t bite.”
Nox, CNS
“I’m sure there are several crew members who’d like to bite me by now, but I didn’t figure you were one of them.” He chuckled, a sound like smooth river stones clacking together. “You can pencil me in for lunch in the next day or two.” The Andorian produced a medical Tricorder and motioned for Nox to take a seat wherever she pleased. “Anything out of the ordinary with your moods or general health lately? Also, if you don’t mind, I’d like to run a quick cellular scan to make sure your interdimensional travels aren’t having any long term side effects.”
-Zarath, CMO
“Consider your appointment booked for day after tomorrow.” She smiled again and went to take a seat on the closest medical bed. Sienna seemed to have no nervousness or reluctance to be examined. Surely if she did not have PTSD from the multitude of mentally and physically exhausting tests she underwent the year before she was assigned to the Europa, she probably never would.
“No, I do not mind. Take all the time you need. As far as I know, everything with my moods and general health are steadily the same.” She sighed, her smile slipping to a slight frown. She would always answer the doctor over her care with absolute honesty. “I still experience waves of grief and depression as I continue to miss my loved ones and friends in the other place. I feel anger sometimes at the state of my being here. I feel resigned to my fate but that often fluctuates as to the level of how resigned I am. I feel job satisfaction in working with the people on this ship. I feel some small joy as I grow to start making friends here. I have had no serious illnesses or physical maladies. As far as I am aware, I am perfectly healthy physically and moderately okay mentally.”
Nox, CNS
The Andorian listened attentively as he began running his scans. His antennae continuously quested to and fro as he made the ritual motions with the medical tricorder’s scanner attachment in the air over her body. “Physically, you appear to be just fine, Counselor. I can’t find any cellular decay or anything out of the ordinary in your genetic markers.” He said after she’d finished, and he’d concluded his primary scan. “I’m afraid I can only offer treatments for the physical, not for the mental… However, I’m no stranger to losing loved ones, and I do sympathize with you.” He smiled. “You are officially cleared for duty. However, if you ever need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to come calling. I even keep a rather exotic collection of loose leaf tea.”
-Zarath, CMO
She waited patiently as he scanned her and took the extra time to check those markers that would indicate she was not suited to this mirror universe. It was reassuring to know she was fine in that regard. Getting the all clear was a relief though she had not expected any other outcome. His offer though was kind and she smiled. “Thank you doctor, I might take you up on it soon enough. Now don’t forget your appointment day after tomorrow. Let’s meet in the Arboretum around lunch time shall we? Come with an appetite and let me know if you are allergic to anything or have any special requests.”
Sienna stood up and nodded once respectfully before taking her leave of the Sickbay and the new doctor.
Nox, CNS
“I’ll be there. with bells on, Counselor.” The Andorian Doctor nodded his head and began the process of filing the adjustments he’d made to her medical file. Once that was done, he added an entry in his duty schedule for his own evaluation.
