It had been a long day and while it wasn’t overly late (1845 hours), but Vora had done the night shift and then Ensign Rickter called in sick, so she had just pulled a double rather than have to rearrange the next few shifts with everyone. It was hardly her first all nighter, but then there had been a malfunction in a processor down on Deck 11 that had caused a few minor problems across the ship, including in the sensor grid and a couple turbolifts. But after awhile, it had been sorted out. But it did mean her and Lieutenant Ki’lain had overlapped for awhile before she felt comfortable to step away.

Stepping into the turbolift on Deck 1, she was tempted to pop into Lab 1 on Deck 1, but decided she was just too tired and decided to head back to her quarters to have dinner and probably crash after checking in on Jerrin.

The doors slid open and Zorell tiredly stepped in. She shouldn’t have been so surprised that someone else could be there, but the sight of the XO made her jump back slightly before she stepped in fully. “Commander,” she greeted with a nod of her head. “Sorry, just a bit tired and wasn’t expecting anyone,” she said politely. She still wasn’t sure how she felt about the XO, but it was clear the woman either didn’t like Vora or had some major issue with her, but for Johann’s sake, she had basically just tried to ignore it and let it be.

Avik had just wrapped up her meeting with the CO. It had been over the department heads and her report on the last mission, her duty ended when the CO dismissed her. Now she simply wanted to return to her quarters and relax.

She had been reading her datapad when someone entered and addressed her. The XO’s eyes lifted from her reading then turned to spot Officer Zorell. While her words were brief, something in Avik’s mind indicated it had been a formality only.

“Officer Zorell.” The XO greeted, making the conversation brief. Though she didn’t say it, she suspected the woman pulled more than a single shift.
