When was the last time I was down here? the Captain wondered as he wandered into Sickbay in time for his mandatory physical. He strode through the door and just stood by the biobeds. His occular implants swept the room to see whether or not Doctor Zarath was here.

He didn’t actually have much of a chance to chat with the new doctor. Something that he had to rectify. He couldn’t actually remember having gone through the standard “oh-hello-you-must-be-the-new-doctor-would-you-like-something-from-the-replicator-no-ok-well-it-says-here-you-did-blah-blah-blah-blah-blah” new department head routine. So maybe he could handle all of that at the same time as this otherwise annoying box-ticking exercise.

The Andorian looked up from his desk when the doors opened. His office had a window that allowed him to see into the main triage area of Sickbay. “Captain Dvorak, what can I do for you?” Tolar stood up and took his cane in hand, exiting his office. The Andorian Doctor was about fifty, of medium height, and of wiry build. He walked with a limp, and utilized a cane made of polished ebony. His dark eyes studied Dvorak as he approached. Zarath’s manner was a bit gruff but not disrespectful in the slightest.

“I’m here for the physical, Doctor Zarath,” the Captain said. “The one I got a notification about that I’m probably overdue on.” It was in the Captain’s bucket of administrivia that he preferred to ignore whenever he had an excuse for doing so.

The Captain stood in uniform at about the same height as the Doctor, maybe a smidgen taller from not having to use a cane. Though he did have an assistive technology of his own though: both of his ‘eyes’ were actually ocular implants. Bits of grey were now showing in Dvorak’s goatee, the only hair besides eyebrows that seemed to be on his head.
