The CMO was on the bridge, and Kayla had the run of sickbay all to herself. She usually worked the night shift. But Zeke had been camped out here for the last few days treating Crewman Taylor’s mysterious alien flu virus.

Now the Sickbay was empty. No patients. No other staff. She sat in the adjacent CMO’s office. Then she used the replicator to order a large mug of coffee. With cream and sugar.
