With a grin, Vora leaned in and planted a brief kiss on his cheek. It was discreet, but at the same time, another small leap of PDA given they were still technically in public, even if there weren’t many people around and likely no one from the Europa. “I like that idea.”

“That will require more ‘out’ for us to go to,” he said contemplatively, after indicating his approval to her kiss by pulling her closer to him. It was a somewhat reflexive and absent-minded gesture; his mind was actively scheming. It was technically true that he had the beginning of a plan, in the sense that he had just started making it up right then and there.

“How much leave do you have right now?”

She had no intention of breaking the coziness his arms had created and simply gazed down slightly into his eyes. “Two days, then I’m technically on the schedule. But… I have a bunch of leave I’ve not taken yet, so there is room for a change in plans. I know I can get someone to cover Astrometrics, if needed.”

“Yeah, I meant the leave you haven’t taken yet. I’m thinking we’ll need more than two days. I probably have two months put away or more.” He actually didn’t know what the limit on banked leave days was now, if there was one.

“I think we should travel somewhere for a vacation. Ideally some nice planet where they don’t have subspace communication.”

Vora grinned widely. “Now that is certainly an idea worth exploring. I am definitely open to discussing what that might look like. Obviously, we’d have to be mindful that Jerrin, while old enough to take care of himself for the most part, might object. On the other hand, he actually might just love the idea of being able to roam the ship without his mother looking over his shoulder,” she said with a laugh. “And I mean, where else could a young person be safer than on a starship with a bunch of people who won’t let him get into too much trouble?” She knew people like Cass and Clint would keep an eye on him. Oh gods, Cass. Maybe that would be asking too much of her, but then again, he’d probably actually listen to her.

“We could take him also,” Johann offered. “I mean I didn’t have some place like Risa in mind.” He didn’t actually have anywhere in mind until two minutes ago. But, everyone was going to have to come to terms with everyone else, if the plan was going to work.

“What do you see his objection actually being?”

“I don’t know. Maybe objection is too strong of a word. I just find us more at odds lately and he seems to like finding fault with almost everything I do. So, if there is something to object, he’ll find it,” Vora said with a touch of weariness. “I’m okay taking him with us. If he’d even want to go, that is.”
