Zeke finally finished off his dinner. He didn’t eat out much these days. His time was mainly speant in the Sickbay, or his special holodeck research program, or his quarters.

Seemingly out of nowhere, a different waiter appeared to collect the plates off of Zeke’s table.

“Can I get you anything else?” he asked.

– A Nameless Waiter

“Yes,” Zeke said. “Whiskey. On the rocks. Make it a double. And none of that synthehol garbage.”

CMO

The waiter’s eyes visibly pivoted back and forth very conspicuously at this request, before he moved in a little closer and spoke in a low tone.

“I didn’t know you were part of the club… we haven’t had that many people ask lately… are you okay with Irish? We still have a crate of that stuff from… you know…”

Zeke wouldn’t know as he wasn’t part of the club, and wouldn’t have any idea why there would be a crate of Irish Whiskey on this ship. What did he just stumble into?

– A Nameless Waiter

“Irish will do, if you have nothing else,” Zeke calmly replied in a soft voice. “And who do you think started the club?”

“Th-uh…” the waiter stopped himself. Zeke sold it well, but everyone in the club knew who started it. “Not you.”

“Maybe you’d better tell me just who you think is in the club. So, that way, I can make sure that the wrong people don’t know about it. After you get me that drink.”

“I think I’ll get you the drink,” was the simple reply as the waiter left.

A minute later, the waiter returned with the glass, and set it down on the table in front of Zeke without any particular flourish.

– A Nameless Waiter

“Thanks!” Zeke said. He took a gulp. “So, who can you point me to, to get my particular brand of poison?”

The waiter seemed to look around shifty eyed as he considered how to answer the question.

“I’ll speak to some people,” he said. “If you make the cut, they’ll contact you.”

“I’d like to get and stock a specific brand of whiskey,” he added.

CMO

“I’ll pass that along also, it may help. What brand is that?”

“Glenlivet 18 Year Old,” Zeke replied. “Oh, and my side benefit is, that I can personally mark any deliveries as vital medical supplies.”
