Rather than go back out to the bridge, Johann instead walked over to his desk. He thought he heard a notification that he had new mail, and now was as good a time as any to read it.
As Cass left, she sighed softly and went back to her reading.
A second after seeing what it was, he let out a particularly loud sigh. Guess I really screwed the pooch with that one, he thought. It was bad enough that he had made that slip up, but he didn’t realize at the time how bad it must have been for Nox. And he still didn’t, not really. Better patch this up before it festers…
He pressed one of the buttons on the desk. =/\= Nox, could you come in here please. =/\=

She heard his request and closed her eyes for a moment to collect herself. She was a little heart broken. She stood and dutifully walked over to his office, entering as the door opened. She guessed he was likely wanting to talk to her about the Command Course she signed up for. Sienna looked up at him, trying as much as she could to keep her features schooled. “SIr?”
Nox, CNS
“Have a seat.”
He looked at her for a moment, and then at his computer screen, and then back at her again.
Dutifully, she took a seat in the chair before his desk. She didn’t sit back or really even look comfortable. Her hands came to clasp in her lap, fingers already twirling around the wedding band on her left hand. Simple as it was, it shone and was obviously well cared for.
Wasn’t…? he thought briefly. No-I mean… yet, but that’s not the point right now…
“That was really bad, right?”

She gave him a small understanding smile though it didn’t quite reach her dark eyes. “You mean treating me as though I were her? I am sure no one noticed.” Again she tried for a smile and found it a little easier. She hated to see him uneasy… in so far as Johann ever really exhibited that emotion. She could tell, like she could with her husband. This was new territory for him and she didn’t blame him as much as it hurt to be erased as a person by the man who looked and acted very much like the man she loved most.
Nox, CNS
“You noticed,” he said simply. “And I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
He gave the display on his desk a swirl, such that she could read the screen. The contents of it were the application for for command training that she had just submitted. “Is that what this is about?”
