Vora ushered her son in and Jerrin for his part looked entirely unhappy, if resigned, to be there. Vora smiled weakly at Nox as her son practically ignored the offer and slumped down in one of the chairs.
How often was a counselor met with this type of behavior? Sienna almost smiled at the stereotypical teenager way that Jerrin sulkily slumped in one of the chairs. If he had sighed dramatically, she might have lost her composure. It didn’t bother her that he was being like this, though. She knew it did bother Vora however.
Ignoring Jerrin’s rudeness, Vora grabbed a plate and helped her self to some of the flaky spiced cookies she loved and some of the cheesy potato chip things that were a favourite treat. With that she grabbed a cup of hot chocolate with chili that satisfied her need for heat in her spice, and then took a seat, resting her plate on the table, but keeping the mug in hand as she crossed her very long legs and leaned back. “I do love this hot chocolate. It’s warm and comforting, but energizing too.”

“I have a healthy appreciation for hot chocolate, but I am not much of a spice person. Under the right type of day however, I find that I agree with your assessment. Sometimes you just need a little something extra. Commander Range was quite the fan of the base beverage as well. Not so much that he wasn’t afraid to throw a cup full at the wall though. Some days… it is interesting being a counselor.” She said with a half smile.
Vora snorted. “Of that I have no doubt,” she said, breaking into more of a grin.
She leaned forward and got a few bacon wrapped baked dates and placed them on a plate. They were small, easy to eat and a particular favorite of hers. She set it down where she could easily reach it there on the couch and took a seat. Her eyes lingered on the young man, trying to get a feel for him beyond his annoyance at this summons. There had to be a crack somewhere that would allow her to get inside and help the situation… or maybe even beyond this moment in Jerrin’s life. She hoped, her comment about Commander Range would pique his interest and get him involved in the conversation.

Jerrin had just folded his arms across his chest, but beyond the sullenness there was a tiny thread of fear. He was good at not showing it on his face though, even if he knew his mom and the counsellor likely would figure it all out. They always did. Feet crossed at the ankles, one foot moved back and forth.
Her story about Commander Range had not had the effect on Jerrin she would have preferred, but Siennadye was hardly one to be deterred in her efforts so easily. She could feel his fear as much as she did the very characteristic sullenness that came from all teenagers. She wondered how she would approach this situation. Before meeting the boy, she had not really thought of a specific plan. There were vaguely outlined options, but she didn’t want to make any choices until she had met him.
For her part, Vora just relaxed into the chair, glanced at Jerrin and then at Nox. “So, here we are. And you should know that we’ve also met with the captain, and Jerrin, by his own agreement, is going to be doing some work around the ship with different departments.”

She was glad to see Vora relaxing. For the most part, she was just wanted Vora here to assist if necessary. “I had heard something to that effect might be possible. I think it is an excellent idea.”
She turned her dark Betazoid gaze to Jerrin. She seemed relaxed and exuded a nonchalance. “I wonder, Jerrin, what you think I called you here for? I am curious to know what you think of me, counselors, Betazoid counselors, this office?
