From the science labs, further reports continued to come in that the slime was still trying to expand when an unassuming ensign turned the heat back up and caused it to start growing again.

“Have the Transporter Room beam the Away Team up when they signal that they’re ready,” he ordered to whichever officer seemed to be most useful for doing that task. After the Away Team was back, then he might talk to the Governor if he still felt like it.
