Zorell couldn’t help but smile though and she watched with intense curiosity. Her head and body moved to the rhythm being created and she was already starting to hear how things could be put together. Grabbing her guitar, she began to add some accompanying riffs in the lower registers to create something of a bass line. She could hear the chord options and was completely improvising, but it was clear she was inspired but Nox’s playing.

She almost stopped when she heard the lower chords, thinking for a split second that something was wrong. But opening her eyes, she found Vora playing with her, and she relaxed, continuing to play her music. Vora was very good at supplementing the melody. They played well together, though Sienna was unused to playing with others in a jam session setting. Finally she let her music fade away because she didn’t know what else to do. The short time they played together had been confirmation enough that the flute distortion worked well for the purpose of finding a mutually beneficial sound.

She grinned at Vora. “Well now… I think that works!”

Finishing with a small chord flourish, Vora grinned. “That it does!” she agreed. “I think there will be some interesting things we can do with the piano too.”

Indeed, the idea of adding piano to the mix would be undoubtedly a well rounded and unique sound. She couldn’t believe how easy it had been for them to meld together. Sienna could not doubt that Vora’s extensive musical talent made this possible. Sienna was good, but she was quite limited compared to the other woman in this regard.

She leaned on the guitar slightly, her smile turning into a soft one. “Sometimes I forget how much I need music in my life. I didn’t know it was missing until Deacon introduced it to me,” she said, almost reverently.

This had Sienna’s smile fading a little as her thoughts fell back into her life… the one she was basically stealing from the other woman who’s dimension was now her home. “Yes. I forget it too. I get out of practice or I become too busy to dedicate time to playing.” For the last few weeks, she had been able to forget that she didn’t belong her and though it had been an illusion, it had been a nice one that had afforded her some peace.

Wanting to forget about her own pain, she changed the direction of their discussion by asking, “Who is Deacon?”
