She looked up at him and nodded as well. “Good. Having a neutral person to talk to can be good for someone in a lot of ways. I can provide some fresh perspective, a listening ear, help with understanding what you are feeling or to help figure out a situation and its effect on you. We can focus on finding out what you really want out of life and how to achieve it. But most of all, I am here to support you and be your advocate. I won’t speak with your mother about the contents of our sessions. I am really glad we will be working together.”

She finished the flourishes and smiled. “Alright Jerrin. If you could remove the lasagna from the oven. It should be ready now. It should rest on the counter until after we have finished our salad course.”

Grabbing the holders… glove… things, Jerrin opened up the oven door and immediately his face was awash with steam and heat. He stepped back a bit with more than a little surprise and let it clear before he reached in and pulled out the heavy (and hot!) glass pan. “It smells good!” he said with a grin as he brought it to rest on the counter.

A minute later, both Vora and Johann arrived. Vora beamed and shook her head slightly. “It’s smells wonderful. What do we have?” she asked as she took in the cozy surroundings.

Jerrin eyed the steaming glass dish and then looked at his mother and Johann. “Lasagna. We put a lot of cheese in it,” he said with lopsided grin. He liked making things and as it turned out, food also counted.

“‘A lot of cheese in it’ sounds like a good plan,” Johann commented approvingly. Johann always liked cheese, something which he would have been surprised if Jerrin had known about. I wonder if she said anything, he thought.

Johann’s occular implants darted back and forth a bit as he took in the surroundings. It was a somewhat cozy program; someone’s home somewhere, though he also noticed that there were pictures on the wall that were oddly indistinct…

Sienna turned as their guests entered and smiled warmly. “Jerrin and I have been preparing a very delicious meal and having a nice chat getting to know one another.” She said as she grabbed the bowl of salad and placed it on the table with tongs. She grabbed a cherry tomato and popped it into her mouth to chew for a moment before gesturing to one side of the kitchen. “MMM…Vora could you grab the dressings in the cool box and put them onto the table. please?”

“And Johann, the bread from the Island?”
