Valentina shook her head. Looking around, the woman wondered first, where she was, and second, why she was ‘waking up’. She glanced to her right and saw the pilot of the shuttle just shaking himself awake as well. “You ok?” She asked, her hand reaching out to touch his arm to be sure.
“Yeah… didn’t hit my head? I think we docked ok. But no idea what happened. You ok, Ma’am?” He shook himself to clear his head and looked down at the dark console. “The shutdown was run. So something happened. I just hope we are on your precious ship and not some Klingon war bird.” He laughed.
“Not a warbird, Lieutenant. Too clean. Look.” She nodded out the front screen to the hull wall they were facing. Definitely Federation ship. “Stay here and run diagnostics. Make sure you can get out of here if you need to.” She got up and grabbed her bag. Dropping the rear ramp of the shuttle, she noticed two NEs sitting up on the floor near the door. “You guys all right? Stay here. Watch the shuttle and help the pilot. I’m heading to the bridge. Something’s not right.”
She went straight to the bridge, rushing thru the halls so if she did see anyone, chances are they were swift ‘hi’ exchanges and that’s all. As she stepped out of the lift, she dropped her bag to the right of the door and looked around to see what the status was. “Commander Bellini reporting. What’s going on?”
Cmdr Valetina Bellini
XOThe ship was empty..not a living soul aboard. The red alert klaxons were sounding their annoying whoop whoop. The ship itself looked to be undamaged, just unmanned. The normally busy bridge was completely deserted and eerily empty and the only sound was the red alert. Something had indeed gone very wrong. But there was no indication by just looking around what that something was.
Mouse
Valentina went to the nearest console and turned off the klaxon. “Lords and stars…” she whispered and realized she hadn’t remembered passing anyone in the halls. She had just assumed she was so focused, she had missed them.
Moving to the Captain’s chair she called up the last comm and data entries to try and figure out what had happened. “Computer… how many personnel are aboard the ship?”
Valentina
XOThe computer returned =^=There are currently four Star Fleet Officers aboard the USS Constellation, including yourself.=^= It said matter of factly. What she would see in the data entries is there had been no outgoing or incoming comms aside from department to department and person to person. Nothing of great interest at least for the moment. The data logs would show that the ship encountered some type of anomaly and had arrived at its current location approximately five hours thirty six minutes ago. There was no indication of what happened to the crew.
Mouse
She frowned. She got up and went to the science console to get a reading on their bearing and location. With any luck at all, there would be an obvious ‘tell’ of what happened. A tear, or hole, or ‘something’ might tell her where they went. As she did, she spoke up again. “Computer, where is the crew of the Constellation?” She was getting a bit more agitated. “This isn’t how I wanted to earn my Captain pips, OR my ship,” she laughed, thinking of the idea of being a Captain to a crew of four on a derelict ship.
Valentina
XOThe computer intoned =^=The crew was removed from the ship five hours and thirty three minutes ago. Their location is unknown.=^= The science station had a video file of the anomaly that could be replayed.
Mouse
Valentina played the video and had it put on the main screen so she could see it all. Her mind quickly trying to figure out what happened. Her hands coming to rest on the nearest chair to keep her steady as she watched it play out.
Valentina
XOThe video showed the crew going about their daily duties, a science report indicated that there was a anomaly approximately 10, 000 km ahead and growing. Within moments a bright white light flashed and when it was gone, the bridge was empty as was the rest of the ship, save Valentina and the two or three NE’s that had been in secured areas with higher force fields. The ship hadn’t even had a chance to raise shields.
Looking at the data, there was a small class M planet that was just beneath the Connie. Could that have been where the crew was taken. Suddenly, Valentina would feel like she wasn’t alone on the Bridge. It was just a hint of a breeze that swept by her…and then was gone.
Mouse
The XO spun around. Her hand went to her hip only to realize she was unarmed. “Good job, Len… let’s fix that…” She went to the Captain’s office to the small cabinet that should hold at least one phaser, if she was lucky.
While she was looking, she stopped at the desk to comm the shuttle. =^= This is Valentina. Something’s wrong. You, me and those two with you are the only ones left on the ship. I’m on the bridge. We’re over an class planet, but I don’t think we’re alone. Make sure the three of you are armed, secure the bay and I’ll get back to you in a few. =^=
She’d get the weapon then head back to the bridge and try and hail the Captain from the bridge.
Valentina
XOValentina was able to locate the pistol and as she returned to the Bridge, she noticed the console she had been at was not completely black as if someone had unplugged it. But there was no one visible on the Bridge. The hail for the Captain only came back as static as if there was something blocking the transmission.
Mouse
She frowned and tried to reboot the console before moving to another to use while it did its warm up, she hoped. “COMPUTER…” she called out. “Are comms clear to the ground?” She checked the console to be sure its answer and the computer’s matched. She searched for interference in the form of jamming signals, storms of note, and additional signals either incoming or outgoing from the ground and surrounding space. Periodically she glanced to the black console to see if it was back up and running.
