Okay, he was finally on a ship. That was something at least, he was in space. Which is what he always wanted, but first he had to officially sign on for duty and he could do this. Deep breaths, remember why he had applied in the first place. The man was good at medicine, he wanted to heal people. Make them better, alleviate their suffering, whatever you wanted to call it. It was a new start from a bad life and that’s what was important, as were first impressions. “Deck 1, Bridge.” Saburo ordered the turbolift, making sure his hair was perfect one last time. Combadge straight, shirt tucked in… First impressions were important, messing this up was unacceptable.

Walking across to the Captain’s Ready Room, his fingers hesitated over the button for a moment before pressing it, hearing the chime.

“Enter” came the stern voice of the ship captain.

Upon entry the young doctor would find a tall slim built officer sat behind his desk PaDD in hand. The office was in a fairly clean state. Well clean compared to how it normally would look.
