Underneath one of the consoles, the frightened form of Ryalla whimpered and trembled as she cradled a badly broken arm. As she looked around the carnage in the shuttle, she rocked back and forth muttering to herself. “I’m sorry…I had to…”

Mother Hen

Gong’da heard the whimper and came over to Ryalla. “It is going to be fine little one. I will help you. ” He gave her a painkiller. “That should help while I work.” He looked at her arm and immediately saw that it was broke. He looked at it to see if he could reset it properly.

Byr was surprised as he pulled out his tricorder and it still worked. He quickly made local scans, and double checked his PaDD. He hadn’t let go of it since he picked it back up after the pilot took it from him the first time. “Well, the good news is we don’t have to worry about getting blown up,” he says. “The bad news, we’re a long way from where we’re meant to be, and it isn’t an easy route. Based on my studies of the planet on the way here, we’re approximately 40 kilometers away from where we were meant to be,” he says. “And… well, we’re going to have to cross an uncrossable river, and go mountain climbing. It’s actually starting to sound like it will be a fun leave,” he said as his antennae twitched, thinking of the adventure that awaited them. The temperature was a bit too hot for his liking, but the mountains, the walk, everything that was before them was things he did as hobbies.

Ensign Byrneraterro Ch’riaqer, Science

Torgh watched as the people around him did their thing. He relished the near death experience and the challenge ahead but, he admitted, beyond that being a Klingon trait, he was over his head. Counselors typically didn’t get a lot of command or first aid or similar training. However right now he was needed for other things. The medical staff were doing admirably, even if he was more interested in using himself as a snack bar. Byr was unharmed, though the climate would take some of the wind out of him. That would need to be observed. Ryalla, Cross, the pilot .. who else was injured? They had a choice – stay here and hope that their descent would have been observed and looked at or try to make a cross country trip that in itself would be dangerous for half of them. They could split up with the able bodied making the trip. He glanced at Cross and the wreck of the shuttle. He would rely on the doctor’s assessment there. Fortunately he was not the ranking officer.

“Byr, can you fix the comms and rig up some kind of power source for it to call for help?” he asked the Andorian. He didn’t want to yet think of trying to carry Cross for several days to a hospital facility. Would the ship have seen them go down? He’d like to know what had happened and what had caused the explosion but that was likely vaporized in the act.
“Who else needs medical attention?” he called out. He wondered though if he was the designated snack of the demon than anything that would get ‘patched’ up. His shoulder ached but he would live. Unless of course the fangs were poisoned. In that event he would die. Painfully. But oh what way to go!
Turning to Ryalla he said, “You are brave, little one” he said. It was more a declaration than perhaps a reality, but that was more his style – coddling never got anyone anywhere. “Can I help” he asked the demon, er, doctor.

Gong’da looked up with fierce focus in his eyes and blood from the Klingon still running down from his mouth. “Yes. See if you can find peices of metal to use for broken bone stabilizers. Then find anyone that has a bad gash or something. Start a triage.”

The shuttle was not ‘that’ big that he wouldn’t be bumping into people in his search already. He had to think actually about the meaning of triage. Something about separating people according to their injuries. Bad gash. “You mean gashes not caused by teeth,” he said dryly. “You might want to see how the Captain is,” he suggested. The man had been quiet and, while one could suggest he was collecting his thoughts, the time had gone past that of embarrassment; it was time to look into his condition. “I’ll see about improvised splints.” That should not be that hard to do - there was plenty of scrap metal now to choose from. Moving to the side he leveraged his foot on a seat and pulled until the arm of one of the seats gave way that had already been twisted half off.

Sitting in the corner of the cockpit the commanding officer found himself in a confused and dazed condition shaking his head for a few seconds hoping he could bring order to the chaos he pulled himself to his feet and looked around at the shuttle. “How are well all” he began by asking sitting on a seat the possibility of the captain been concussed becoming more and more of a true statement. “Who’s hurt?” he concluded with.

Johnson, CO

“Already taken care of sir! At least the for the moment but you may want to talk to Byrn. He has info on our predictiment. “

“I’m OK, sir,” Byr replied, looking over the shuttle to see if there was any salvageable parts that he could use. He didn’t have any phasers equipped, but he did have his tricorder. He never went anywhere without it, and he was planning on scanning the local flora and fauna of the planet as part of his leave, he always found that relatively relaxing. “I might be able to make something, nothing like Jameson or Bradford could, but I did bring my tricorder - maybe if I can get to the communications array on the shuttle, I could use the tricorder as a power source, it would give us a brief amount of time with comms, maybe enough to send a distress signal for a few hours at most,” he said, looking over the shuttle’s condition, he didn’t even know if any of the communications array would have survived the crash, but he started digging through the shuttle to see if he could salvage anything that he could at least get a signal out with.

Nodding her head in the Captain’s direction, Amze replied with, “I’m fine sir.”

Torgh looked at Byr and grinned at his underlying enthusiasm. “A human saying - necessity is the mother of invention,” he said to Byr, then, “Where there is a warrior there is a way.” He grinned, wielding the twisted chair arm like a club. “That is Klingon.”

As Ryalla sat whimpering in the corner, Kallie sighed as she looked around the battered crew. “I’m bored…” she complained as she twiddled her hair. “I’ll see you later…” she added as she picked up her bag and adeptly clambered her way out of the wreckage and peered back down into the shuttle. “Unless anyone wants to come too?” She offered.

OOC: As I am going to be LOA for the weekend as I am attending a retreat, I am going to leave Cross unconscious for now. Sorry, you’ll have to create a travoise and carry him:)

Krys

Gong’da heard Ryalla. “No you do not young lady!” He bellowed as he was trying to help another crew member. “We ALL leave as one unit! You get back in here! Besides you don’t know where you are going and you heard Bry talk about what might lay ahead. How are you going to manage that by yourself or with one person? Stay here and when the Captain gives the word, then we will move out as one! Got it?”

Gong’da CMO

“As thrilling as the journey sounds, I have to agree with the doctor on this one. In these situations, it’s always best to work together - there may be many obstacles that we won’t be able to face alone. And well, with our security chief out for the count, that’s going to make things even more difficult. Going off on your own is a sure way to get lost, and possibly starve to death,” Byr said matter of factly. “We’re a long way from where we’re meant to be - if we can try and at least get a distress call out to the resort, maybe the rest of the crew will be able to provide some assistance,” he said - his antannae twitching every now and then as he spoke.

Ensign Byrnarterro Ch’riaqer, Science

Kallie glared at the irritating crew for a moment, she knew she could easily dispatch them without too much effort and she also knew she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself, but she had to admit to herself that she did quite like the company so let out a deep sigh and slumped cross-legged back on her seat, with her chin in her hands looking disgruntled and distinctly bored.

Torgh was relieved that the little demon masquerading as a doctor - they are clever! - was berating the young female. Which was well and good. He honestly was surprised at how the female could consider that and be ‘bored’ with all the carnage about them. It was a glorious landing, admittedly, somewhat rough, but still glorious. Setting down the collected ‘splints’ for the doctor to deal with, Torgh made his way back to the rear where the pilot had been summarily thrown. Opening the cabinet he inspected the young man. Dubbing him as injured but able, the Klingon took him up in his arms - surprisingly gently - to bring him forward to be attended to. “I will wager that you are one who always took the food that nobody else would try,” he said to the pilot.

“Byr, assist me. Clear a chair for the pilot and help me set him into it.” He didn’t look like another who would be easy to transport. With due care uncharacteristic of a Klingon he set the man down.
- Torgh, CNS

Byr nodded, seeing if there were any loose chairs from the crash that they could use for the pilot to sit on. “Here you go, you just have a seat right here while the doc does his thing. I’m going to get back to seeing if I can get that distress signal out,” Byr said to nobody in particular as he went back to work. He continued looking around the accessible points of the shuttle to see if there was anything else he could use, checking the state of various computers to see if he could make a makeshift comms array, even if it could only produce a short distress signal for a few hours.

Ensign Byrnarterro Ch’riaqer, Science

There was very little of the shuttle computers which had remained intact but by some miracle the communications panel was the one bit that was relatively unscathed, it would be possible for them to contact the other team on the surface although the range wouldn’t reach to the ship.

A groan came from the front of the shuttle as Cross began to shift a little as he tried to use the console to push himself up, one hand going to his head. Once succeeding in getting himself into a upright position he blinked for a few minutes trying to get his senses back. “Owww.” He moaned again,”Okay that landing hurt.” He slowly turned to check out everyone else. “Are we all alive?”

As they tried to work out what to do, Ossian peered at the shuttle through the trees. Taking a quick chuckle, he swooped over and poked his head through the hatch. Surveying the contents, he gleefully clapped his hands loudly. “My compliments! I wasn’t sure you’d survive the landing but I clearly underestimated you, I’m glad I chose you for my team. Now hurry up! I’ve got a lot riding on you, time to get moving!”

OOC: Appologies all got waylaid with other posts but I am here now to get caught up.

IC:

The captain began by remaining silent observing his individual officers as they each composed them self. One by one he listed to them taking in the information that they gave out. Having processed the information he began to reply in a calm concise manner.

“Ch’riaqer, please put me to work I may be the ships commanding officer but before that I was a ships engineer for a number of years let me help. I am sure if we work together we can get the bare number of required systems online” the captain responded to the ensign having observed that a high number of ships systems were offline.

Whilst waiting for Ch’riaqer to respond Chris turned to here the latter part of Torghs conversation in witch he exclaimed that he was a Klingon “Klingon you are indeed. Sometimes I envy you Klingon Torgh with your resilience and strength.” the captain exclaimed in the hope that the crew spirit would be heightened.

“Cross we are alive how about yourself I need my Chief of Security in top condition to protect me” he went onto say as he turned toward Cross observing he was in some pain.

“Kallie stick with me please I want you out of the way and staying out of trouble.” the captain began by saying. Kallie was the one crew member he knew little about therefore, he knew it was the one crew member he needed to keep safe.

Johnson, CO

“Of course, captain - if you could work on at least getting the…” Byr began when the voice of Ossian interrupted him. “A lot riding on us?” he asked curiously. “What does that mean?” he added to the questioning. The odd response made Byr start to wonder whether or not this crash was more than just an accident.

Ensign Byrnarterro Ch’riaqer, Science

“What was it you wanted me to work on” the campain began by asking.

Upon seeing the strange being poking his head in the shuttle, Cross was reminded of his duties, injuries or no. Gritting his teeth he pushed himself to his feet and made his shaky way toward the hatch to confront this being. His head whirled and throbbed in time to the likely concussion he had there and his stomach was rebelling but he held it down with strength of will.
“Who are you?” He demanded of Ossian.

Cross COS

Ossian chuckled as he clicked his fingers and appeared back in the more familiar appearance and uniform of Lt Oshi with a grin. “Do you recognise me now?” he asked with a wink. Ryalla instinctively tensed up and shuffled backwards with a whimper. Hopping into the shuttle, Ossian knelt down next to the young Andorian. “You did very well little one, for a while I didn’t think you’d go through with it…” he mused as he paused for a moment, looking at the young girl with curiosity. Shaking his head he jumped back up and made his way back over to Cross.

Cross’s voice hissed out for a second as he did indeed recognize the irritating officer, father of Ryalla....Cross’s gaze slid over to Ryalla as he realized there was indeed something very strange going on here. His brows lowered in suspicion as his gaze returned to …”Oshi.” He said very deadpan and with a hardened expression now.

“Who or what I am is of no consequence to you, suffice to say, I am your sponsor for the next few days…” he laughed as he hovered a few feet off the ground. “Your comrades are currently guests of my friend, Lakirum, enjoying the pleasures of the resort but you’re going to want to get to them within 5 days or the consequences could be…unfortunate…for them. Given that you have quite a trek, I’d get moving if you want to see them again.” he added in a more sombre tone. As he looked around the cabin at the battered crew he sighed, they had not fared quite as well as he hoped they would in the crash. “Let me give you a little helping hand,” he said in a softer tone as he gently placed a hand on Cross’ shoulder. Within seconds his pain had dulled and he was able to think clearer. Ossian quickly made his way round the rest of them and did the same before stopping in front of Kallie. The two curiously peered at each other for a few moments before Ossian raised an eyebrow and gave her a wry smile with a shake of his head. “Interesting…” he remarked as he made his way back outside.

Cross’s first reaction to the contact of Oshi’s hand was to try and wrench away, but he could not. The man..if that was what he was…had a grip of iron. Then the pain from his ribs and head vanished. Cross blinked in surprise and his suspicion was solidified.

“Q!” He barked out as he stepped out to try and stop the other man.

“Come on then! Chop chop! Move out!” he barked before disappearing with a laugh.

Mother Hen

When Oshi disappeared Cross whirled around back to the Captain.”I think we are being played here, Captain by two very omnipotent beings, or something like that. He seemed very ‘Q’ like. Ryalla, what do you know about this? He is not your father is he?” He asked as his eyes fell on the girl.

Cross COS

Oh lovely a Q-like being. Amze had been briefed on these things, and how impossible it was to deal with them. Nonetheless, she had her duty to attend to. “If so, they he is a horrible role model. Stranding one’s daughter out in the middle on no where does not seem like good parenting to me.”

Amze Ezma

Emily held her arm protectively over her ribs as she worked on getting the comms up, she worked quietly cursing under her breath. So much for resting and light duty. She turned the wrong way and hissed in pain as her ribs protested. “Working on comms. If you have a communicator that is working, notify the other team of our situation.” She said

Bradford (eng)

“I am incline to agree. Mr Cross. Q like indeed.” the captain began by saying baffled by the events that had recently taken place. “and if I know anything about Q’s its that this is only the beginning”. he continued by saying. “Cross, as security chief I find your Incite the most paramount of any situation. What are your recommendations” Chris asked.

Johnson, CO

“From every report I have read on the ‘Q’ there is not much we can do to change the circumstances and we cannot stay here. I would suggest, given his threat, that we pack supplies and try to reach the resort within 5 days. I guarantee that he won’t allow us to reach the ship for assistance so we will have to play this his way for now. Is everyone well enough to travel?” He asked looking around.

There was a time to speak and a time to be silent, even with a Klingon. He recognized the Captain’s means to bolster morale and accepted it, even as a Counselor, knowing what he was doing. There was nothing wrong with praise. The little being, however, was an enigma and he was silent as he watched the little being speaking and moving about. At the light touch his throbbing shoulder did feel better. He glanced at the Nish’ma who had caused it and then back, dubbing the little one more a Kael’ma, or a angel like being. Of course Torgh knew they were neither, this was one of his small flights of fancy. Glancing again at the CMO he shrugged inwardly. Mostly.

The people now appeared to be well, or well enough to travel. While the others were working Torgh felt that there was a trip coming. And with a trip came the need for supplies. He turned to busy himself with seeking out what rations and the like there was, after first double checking whether there was power for the replicator. Why scrounge for ration sticks when he could make them.
- Torgh

Cross nodded in approval to Torgh as he too moved over to a storage container and began to look for packs to store any supplies they found.”Doctor I would suggest finding any medical supplies on board that we can easily travel with. We need food, tricorders, medical supplies, palm lights, and any survival gear that can be found.” He began to look for any said survival gear such as rope, thermal blankets, tenting and/or canvas, etc.
