As the two nervous teenagers continued to stare at the floor, the shuttle gave an unusual shudder. Bucky quickly tapped the console in front of him to see what had caused it but the console didn’t respond. “Um…we might have a problem here…?” he announced to the team, wishing he’d had perhaps a few less beers on the trip over.Mother Hen
“Good! A challenge for you to overcome!” Torgh replied. It was supposed to be an address of encouragement however it may have come out a tad enthusiastic. He welcomed the distraction. This whole adventure seemed more in line with chaos theory than anything real. Perhaps he was dreaming all this. Dreams rarely were more disjointed than this.
“What’s going on” the captain barked rising to his feet and walking over to the cockpit where he sat in the vacant co-pilot seat. “I’m gonna need a little information on what you are designating to be a problem,” he concluded by saying looking over to the plethora of senior officer that were scattered throughout the small craft.

Emily looked up at the flashing lights and she began to scan the systems for the cause of the “twinkly lights”.Bucky shrugged his shoulders as he continued to jab at the lifeless panel. “Well all me twinkly lights have gone off Bruce and I’ve no idea what course we’re on…” he replied, in a
“I’m trying Captain but I am very little and do not weigh that much. I am being thrown around like a ragdoll and can not get to him!” As he was thrown again.Moments later the shuttle pitched violently throwing anyone who wasn’t strapped in tumbling around the cabin as the inertial dampeners failed and they began plummeting towards the surface out of control.
Mother Hen
Emily held tightly to her console and attempted to reengage the inertial dampners “Captain, inertial dampners off line. We are essentially spinning out of control.” She said as she tried a couple of other tricks she had in her bag to try and keep them from dying.
“Damn” the captain exclaimed leaning back in his seat tapping a number of buttons trying to stabilise the craft a number of these buttons he did not know the purpose of.
.. he was jerked in his seat, biting his lip in the process. Torgh relished the pain and used it to focus as he held on, blood seeping down his lips a running into his long goatee.
- TorghAs the ship lurched, Byr held tightly to the chair as the shuttle started to go out of control. He wasn’t expecting this to happen, and in fact this helped pique his interest from the PaDD he had dropped from the lurching.

Of course the Nish’ma would be unaffected by the turbulence that was happening. That was part of their magic. His eyes tracked from Gong’da to the front. What had happened? An explosive? Or was the pilot simply expressing his beachcomber skills in relation to his dubious piloting skills? Still, they were better than his own. Torgh’s engineering and piloting capabilities were, if equated by size, was about equal to the Nish’ma. So he hung on; the thrill of the ride getting his excitement up as the danger and challenge came to the fore - at least in terms of the ride and hanging on. His eyes still darted between fore and aft taking in the people. How were ‘they’ handling it, besides the little demon. “Stimulating, isn’t it?” he said to Byr.
- TorghByr looked over as the shuttle continued out of control, “Nothing like getting the adrenaline pumping before some rest,” he replied to the counsellor. “Those extreme sports paid off for times like this,” he managed to say as he then took a hard breath.

The rest seemed to be taking this relatively in stride. What he had for drinks, and, frankly, what anyone else had, was long part of either their clothing or furniture or walls or .. well, it was only the thought that it was not gagh that comforted Torgh. The thought of his meal crawling about the out of control shuttle was not something his stomach was willing to commit to. He had had a dream once of gagh rising up to want to eat him; he himself pursued by hordes of the little slithering critters that had borne wicked looking teeth. To be devoured by one’s favorite junk food was simply not a pleasant thought.
“I would suggest everyone sit down and strap in!” Cross called loudly as he used the seats to pull himself to the front, gritting his teeth from his bruised shoulder which had thankfully hit the bulkhead rather then his head. Reaching the cockpit his eyes raked over the console to see if there was any life in it. They needed to get the system to reboot if it wasn’t entirely fried. Sliding into the pilot chair he tried to see if the system would reboot. He wasn’t stupid enough to touch the unknown gadget which had shocked their pilot.
He of course had gotten his own piloting license in the academy as sometimes he pulled double duty as security and pilot. Mind you though he’s kept his certification up he wasn’t as well trained as their erstwhile pilot.

The console remained lifeless as the shuttle broke through the atmosphere. The only part that was vaguely operational were a couple of maneuvering thrusters. They didn’t have enough power to change course but they would be able to level out a little so they could at least land a little smoother.
Amze quickly strapped herself in before looking over to the rest. “I would recommend doing what he says unless you have a specialization in engineering. If we cannot get this thing fixed we might not have as smooth a landing as we would like.”
Amze Ezma
“We’re landing whether we want to or not!” Cross called out as he toggled the thrusters to level them out.
“Indeed strap in folks” the captain shouted applying the barely functioning restraints. “So Cross is this your idea of keeping the captain safe on one of his first away missions as CO” the captain asked his COS in a comical manner trying to defuse the situation.

All the Captain got back was a growl of frustration as Cross continued to fight with the thrusters.

As the shuttlecraft broke through the inner atmosphere, they could see the planet below. They were well of course and headed for a dense jungle.
Mother Hen
“Everyone hang on! We’re hitting the jungle!” Cross said as he continued to try and work the panel as he sent up thoughts to whatever juju gods of his ancestors remained in the universe.

Looking ahead as they broke through the turbulent atmosphere and veered down toward green Torgh pondered that this was not precisely the way he had considered dying. However, it would make an interesting story .. for someone. He glanced to Byr. While Torgh’s stomach was strong he had never been fond of roller coasters which had overstayed their welcome in length. “Perhaps we will be fortunate and be shipwrecked,” he said to the Andorian. Then glanced back at the CMO. “With your own personal demon. How fortunate,” he growled.
TorghTorgh was hungry, which was a unique thing when his stomach was starting to stir with the turbulence. He’d always had a certain twinge to eat in stressful circumstances - his bone that he would throw to other counselors to analyze him and his childhood relations with his two pet Targs and other nonsense like that. As he hung on with one hand - though the jostling was decreasing imperceptibly with the thrusters trying to even them out; now it was swaying to and fro like a boat on the tide rather than somersaults - he leaned over to Byr. “Anything to eat?”
- Torgh“To be honest, that is what I thought we were heading down there for,” Byr replied. “So, I didn’t bring any food for the journey, and eating… now?” he continued, as his antannae twitched with curiosity, all while his adrenaline continued to build as they span out of control and further towards the looming jungle below.

As the shuttle began slicing through the tops of the taller trees, Cross finally managed to level the craft out enough so they wouldn’t plough into the ground like a dart. Before they had time to breathe a sigh of relief, the shuttle made contact with the surface, sending an almighty jolt through the shuttle as luggage, equipment and anyone who wasn’t strapped in went hurtling around the cabin.
Torgh hung on, looking over the shoulders of those in front of him and through the cockpit windows at what was happening. He was leaning forward, eyes wide with a maniacal grin on his face. “Now that’s something you don’t see every day!” He spared a hand to clap Byr on the shoulder as he exclaimed this.
The shuttle let out a high pitched squeal in protest as it skimmed across the jungle floor, leaving a large groove in the soil before finally settling scarily close to a large ravine a couple of meters away. The minimal power that was left in the protesting computer quickly died out and the cabin was left in an eerie silence.
Mother Hen
Letting out a defiant cry in the face of this crash he bellowed out, “Now this is a landing worthy of a song!!” He would have said more but …
And since Gong’da was not strapped in he was hurled towards the Klingon like a tiny dart with razor sharp teeth. “Ahhhhhhh!”
Gong’da CMO
OOC: Love it!

The tiny cry was the only warning Torgh had, but then that wasn’t enough when he felt an impact on his shoulder that pushed him forward, the already strained restraints complaining and one side snapping. A moment later the pain of a myriad of sharp teeth biting in reached him and his bellow was replaced with a growl of unrecognition. Reflex followed as he tried to remove the offending thing - only realizing that it was not a thing but the Nish’ma. A spark of reflexive fear ensued as he thought of poisoned fangs as he gripped Gong’da and yanked …

Unfortunately Cross hadn’t been so bright either, that or macho, and hadn’t strapped in either. So he lay unconscious over the navigation console from the impact.

Emily also was not strapped in having barely had a chance to sit down from where she had been trying to reengage the dampners.

Byr unbuckled once the shuttle had landed, and looked around to see who else hadn’t been beaten around too much. “Was I the only one who wore my seatbelt?” he asked, his antennae flicking with curiosity. “Should we try and get in contact with the other group, let them know that something happened?” he asked, looking to the ranking officers for approval.
