As Pilar walked to the counselor’s office, she visually took in her surroundings on the ship, she was excited and it showed on her face. This was her first assignment in a leadership position. Also during this time she was on comm with her husband, she said to him, “It is amazing. I do not know how else to describe it.”
He replied back, “You are always an exaggerated visionary when it comes to these types of things.” He of course was referring to her mood and the fact she was displaying unnecessary emotion. His face was unchanging as he commented, even so, she knew he was teasing her in his own particular way.
“Well you know, I thought that I would just stay at home and rear our kids into adulthood. I mean that is what was supposed to happen, so…”
“I think you are better and more useful where your are.” He said, blatantly. Pilar nodded in agreement. She wished he would just show, on his face, just one this time, how happy he was for her.”
“Okay then,” she said, “I am here for my psych evaluation. We shall talk later.” He nodded and the call ended.
Pilar tapped the chime and waited for her order to enter the room.

Pilar really usually didn’t snoop around, however when no one answered the chime she walked into the office and began to observe the room. “Counselor? Are you here? We had an appointment for my psych evaluation. An important part of my boarding physical....” her voice trailed off as she began to realize that she may be talking to herself. She walked over to a chair and sat as she looked out the window at the stars. She began to think about her children, Perseus and Spenser. She hadn’t physically seen them in months and she hadn’t had the chance to talk to them since she took her new job on the Constellation, on the advice of her husband because he didn’t want her “motherly” emotions to interfere with her success in the new role. She pulled up a picture of them on her PaDD and looked at it in a daze.
