As the last of his first set of passengers left the shuttle. Bucky quickly fired up the launch sequence again, keen to collect the second team and get back before the festivities started.

He kicked the old bird into autopilot and cracked open another beer as he let out a loud yawn. As no one was around he set his beer down and grabbed a quick cat nap before he was rudely awoken be NE Fran’s voice over the comm link.

=/\= Helllllloooo? I haven’t got all day, are you landing or what?! =/\= her stroppy voice carried over the comm line. Bucky quickly wiped the drool off his chin and hit the comm link.

=/\= Uh, yeah, sorry about that Sheila, must have been a bad line, bringing her in to land now… =/\= he said as he hastily gave his cheeks a slap so he didn’t look too wiped out. As the shuttle came to rest once again on the Constellation, Bucky realised he was desperate for the loo. Doing a little dance as the shuttle doors opened, he dashed through, nearly bowling NE Fran over as he yelled, “where’s the dunny?!”

Fran shrugged her shoulders and shook her head as Bucky fidgeted in front of her. With his leg twitched Bucky gave her an exasperated look. “You know, the john? The crapper?! I need to take a leak!” he replied urgently as the young NE finally caught on. Shaking her head in dismay at his lack of decorum and professionalism, she roughly grabbed him by the arm and dragged him down the corridor to the nearest restroom. “I’ll have to accompany you, you’re not authorised to be aboard the ship,” she snapped, clearly irritated at the inconvenience.

As he dashed in to relieve himself, NE Fran sent a quick internal memo to the second away team that their shuttle had arrived and would be departing as soon as their pilot had in his words, ‘had a slash’.

Byr saw the memo and began making his way to the shuttlebay. He wondered what “having a slash” involved, it wasn’t a saying he was familiar with. Was there a problem? It almost sounded like he was in a fight of some kind, but the ship hadn’t gone onto alert, so he made his way as planned to the shuttle a couple of minutes later.

He always found the “pleasure planets” far too warm for his liking, however the mountains did pique his interest.

Ensign Byrnarterro Ch’riaqer, Science

Lt. jg Cross entered the shuttlebay with NE Travis at his side. No way was he gonna let the Captain go down without at least two Security officers. He wasn’t going to let anything happen on his watch.
Nodding to Ch’riaqer he said,”Ensign,” the science officer was someone he hadn’t met yet though he had perused his service jacket, as he had of everyone aboard. Ch’riaqer was an Andorian, who he generally enjoyed serving with, though one did have to watch their tempers.

“Are we already” the captain exclaimed entering shuttle bay applying the standard PPE as he did. That been a tricorder holstered to the left side and a phaser to the right. “Let’s get this show on the road” he concluded by daying as he walked on towards the shuttle.

Johnson, CO

Torgh rounded the corridor into the Bay and stalked toward the shuttle. Finally, after having epic battles with the quartermaster, or so the foolish little man thought, he obtained the furniture for his office. He had just had a mug of blood wine as he had had no appointments - he had checked that at last - only to find that he had been scheduled for some shuttle trip to somewhere. The message was vague. He saw the shuttle and, tipping his head to peer inside around the captain, whom he recalled however had not met yet, saw others present. It was going to be snuggly in there. Oh how Torgh hated snuggly. It brought to mind images of tribbles which he hated even more.

“We are going to a show?” Torgh asked, climbing aboard. He recognized a couple of the others and grunted his welcome as he sought a seat, eyes searching under dark, bushy brows. He had no clue where they were going and why on earth he would be needed. But such was the life in the military. Need to know usually meant not having a clue. Perhaps his Andorian friend would have some of that danger he sought. Sinking into a seat that was just a size too small for him, he scowled.
- Torgh

“Ahh Torgh, greetings we have to be acquainted if you do not know already I am Chris the Captain of this madhouse so to speak” the captain began by saying in a polite and cheerful manner. “Sadly, we are not going to a show. What I said was a metaphorical figure of speech something often used on earth” the commanding officer concluded by saying.

“Captain,” Torgh said in reply, his tone respectful, if gruff. “In the city of Vol’naz there is a theatre. It holds a season long Shakespeare festival. They are day long events that have food, the play and an obligatory brawl. When it was spoken to be a ‘show’ I imagined that - a dinner and a show.” He paused to look about him. “Rather fond of the idea of a brawl too.”

Popping out of an air vent, Amze made sure to type in a code on a nearby console to make sure that the ship would not blow up while she was gone. Just because she didn’t want to take it over anymore didn’t mean that she got rid of the many contingencies in place in case she was found out. Climbing aboard the shuttle, she made sure to put on her best diplomatic (TM) smile.

Amze Ezma (Ambassador)

“Ahh Mr Ezma glad you can join us nice to see you’re using the more unconventional methods of transport around the ship,” the captain said in polite greeting towards the ship’s ambassador.

Torgh inspected the ‘ambassador’ and sent back his best Klingon (TM) smile, which, at best, looked a cross between a snarl and a ‘I want to take a bite out of you’ look.

Suitably relieved, Bucky wandered back into the shuttlebay as he zipped his fly under the watchful gaze of NE Fran. As he saw the next team arriving he clapped his hands together in delight. “G’Day mates!” he hollered across the shuttlebay. “You folks ready for a rip snorter of a party?” he asked as climbed on board the shuttle and gestured for them to follow. As he looked around the party gathered, he noticed there were a couple missing so he cracked open yet another beer. “Help yerselves…” he said as he indicated to the large cooler under the helm.

Mother Hen

The Klingon wasn’t phased by the apparent laxness of the pilot. He had served on a Klingon vessel where there were challenges to the ‘polite’ manners of the Earthers. Bucky was a tad refreshing actually. Upon knowledge he was heading to a ‘party’ he groaned. Unless it had axe throwing and a good brawl he doubted it would be good. Reaching for the cooler he pulled out a container of ‘beer’. Typical Earth drivel. “Weak as water and not half as tasty,” he muttered more to himself, though, noticeably, he did not return it to the cooler.
- Torgh

Noticing the disdain on Torgh’s face, Bucky chuckled. “Not a fan huh?” he asked as he pulled another box out from under his seat and ferreted around in it, eventually pulling out a flask and a metal tankard, passing it to the CNS. “Perhaps this is more your style Bruce?” he offered as he poured out a generous serving of Klingon blood wine. “And there’s plenty more of that down on the surface!” he laughed as he kicked the box back under his chair.

“Bruce?” he asked, looking about him to see whether there another who was the intended for the drink. He glanced at the Captain. If this was not a show that included imbibing - and a brawl - then why were they drinking? Was that a requirement for this alien encounter that they be so intoxicated?

Byr’s antannae drooped slightly at the mention of the party. He was more someone interested in discovery than drinking, and when the drinks were offered he didn’t partake. He didn’t like the taste of alcohol, though he couldn’t deny it’s anti-bacterial properties. Beer however did not have that, and he never got a taste for the stuff. He followed behind the group as he took a seat in the shuttle, waiting for departure.

Ensign Byrnarterro Ch’riaqer, Science

Cross sat quickly though his sharp eyes studied everyone as he attempted to learn their mannerisms and habits. Better to be able to predict behavior in stressful situations so he had an idea of what they would do.

He had no concerns with either Torgh or Ch’riaqer, they were both members of a warrior race and would be be prepared for anything. The Ambassador though was an unknown quantity though usually the diplomatic sort were flexible if tempermental usually. Gong’da was a Ferengi, who could be counted on to run or cower. Bradford was an engineer so might be handy and quick witted.

The Captain though was the heroic sort, he’d charge in whether it was a good idea or not. He would have a hard time controlling anything the Captain would take it in his head to do. Cross frowned to himself in worry, he was in charge of the safety of the Captain and this group of crew members. Turning back to his padd he keyed up any relevant information on the planet below that might be useful such as its society and governmental structural, as well as general geographic and environmental data on the area they were heading too.

Cross COS

Byr had strapped himself in and taken a seat, then also pulled out a Padd, looking at similar information regarding the culture of the planet and the cultrual customs that were followed down below for his own curiosity.

Ensign Byrnarterro C’riaqer, Science

Bucky sighed as the young Ensign seemed to be doing his homework. “Lighten up kid! You’re going to a party, not a research seminar!” he chuckled as he pulled the PaDD out of Byr’s hand and chucked it into the science officer’s bag, replacing it with a beer in Byr’s hand.

Torgh took note of this exchange. ‘Bucky’ was pressing his agenda and Byrna as he thought of him - as he had trouble pronouncing the rest - was getting pressed. The Klingon gave the Andorian a look and leaned in, “If you are shy, defeat it. If this is your value, defend it.”

Stepping onto the shuttle the Captain prepared himself for departure and began to ponder what he would observe upon his arrival to the alien world.

Johnson, CO

As they prepared to depart, the now familiar face of Kallie popped around the edge of the shuttle door with a wide grin. “I’m bored, there’s nothing to do here, can I come with you?” she asked Johnson hopefully, batting her eyes at him. “I’ll tell you more secrets…” she giggled. “Plus, I want to play with the Klingon and the Andorian, they seem like fun…” she concluded as she didn’t bother to wait for an answer and stepped inside, taking a seat next to Chris.

OOC: I’m going to assume that Bradford is already on board as Tyra is LOA and may not get chance to post in this thread before the shuttle leaves so as soon as Gong’da joins us we’ll head off :)

Gong’da’s little feet were going as fast as they can. It would look comical and somewhat scary to see Gong’da running through the halls. His face was sweating and his lips were pulled back revealing his sharp teeth. He looked like a gremlin without the big pointy ears. Finally making it to the shuttle he climbed aboard panting. “I am here.” He said with shortness of breath. “I am going to find a seat and pass out.” And he did just that.

Gong’da CMO

A Nish’ma just came aboard. Whatever this was in the medical uniform it looked rather like a small Klingon demon out of mythology. Torgh decided that he would avoid sickbay at all costs.

OOC: That’s hilarious! I screen shot that!

Watching the Ferengi zone out, Bucky laughed as Bradford came and took the last seat. “Right, that looks like everyone mates, let’s get this rust bucket in the air!” he said gleefully as he tapped in the launch sequence as soon as the shuttle door closed. “Strap in folks, we’ll be there in no time!” he added as they left the Constellation and headed towards the planet.

Looking out of the window in his quarters, Oshi watched the shuttle depart with a laugh as he clapped his hands together gleefully. As he watched them head towards the planet, he became aware of another presence in the room as his companion Lakirum floated over to join him and watched the departure as well. “It looks like all the pieces are in place?” Lakirum asked as the shuttle flew out of their field of vision. Oshi, or rather Ossian, shrugged his shoulders as he jumped over the back of the sofa to sit on it. “Perhaps…” he mused as he wondered whether Ryalla would complete her mission or not. Given that he had threatened to kill her father if she didn’t, he didn’t think she would back out but the kid was a bit of a wimp so who knew. In truth, he didn’t really care, she had just been a means to an end. If she didn’t, he had plenty of other ways to set the plan in motion, at the end of the day it was all just a game to him.

Lakirum nudged his companion on the shoulder as he came to sit next to him. “Come on then, our players are about to take to the stage and I want a front row seat…” he whinged. Ossian chuckled and nodded as he stood and took a running leap through the bulkhead into space. “Race you!” he hollered from the vacuum as Lakirum did the same. The two beings circled each other in space for a moment before speeding towards the planet to watch their experiment unfold.

As the shuttle trundled towards the planet again, Bucky turned to his new set of passengers. “Anyone up for a bit of poker?” he asked, hoping he could win back some of the money he had lost in the last game.

Torgh replied, “If we are going to be ‘there’ in no time, Bucky, how do we have time for poker?” He was not averse to poker. Indeed, there were certain Terran games that brought out the true character in people. Poker was on. Golf was another. Torgh was poor at both.

OOC: For those who were not here at the beginning of the sim, or have forgotten, Lakirum and Ossian (who has been posing as Oshi) are two omnipotent beings who set about settling a mystery wager right at the beginning of the sim. Two teams on opposing sides of their unknown debate…let the games begin and may the best team win! ;)

Gong’da

The old pilot chuckled as he nodded enthusiastically having put the shuttle onto autopilot. “There’s always time for poker!” he replied as he pulled out a deck of cards.

From the back of the shuttle craft in the luggage compartment, Bucky thought he heard an unusual noise. “Hold that thought mates…” he added as he set the cards aside and cautiously approached the back of the compartment. Truth be told, although they had spruced it up to look pretty, the shuttle was pretty old and strange noises were fairly common place. He peered around the compartment briefly before shaking his head and returning to his seat. “What’ll it be then, Texas Hold-em, 5 card stud?” he asked looking around the group.
